A man and a woman
This song is about fidelity, as Bono sings of how he would not jeopardize love for romance elsewhere. It's not a common theme in Rock lyrics, as in many songs the singer refuses to limit himself to one woman.

Blackbird
Marcy Playground - Marcy Playground
This one is about a girl - the girl Marcy Playground lead singer John Wozniak had an affair with. The girl that came between him and Raine, the woman he would later marry. In our interview with John Wozniak, he explained: "We broke up because I had a relationship with another girl. Yeah, I cheated on Raine. And this other girl turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life. But I thought I was in love at the time. And I was wrong. I just really was infatuated, is what it was. And Raine took me back after some time. (laughing) After a lot of penance paid. Yeah, and I wrote that song about that. 'Blackbird' is, as my mom would call her, 'the girl with the dancing eyes.' That's what my mother would say."

He gave her credit during the interview, saying that it was a huge pill for her to swallow and he appreciates her for that.

Careless Whisper
The Best Of Wham! - Wham
In an interview with the Christmas 2009 issue of THE BIG ISSUE, Michael said of this song, "I'm still a bit puzzled why it's made such an impression on people... Is it because so many people have cheated on their partners? Is that why they connect with it? I have no idea, but it's ironic that this song - which has come to define me in some way - should have been written right at the beginning of my career when I was still so young. I was only 17 and didn't really know much about anything - and certainly nothing much about relationships."
It would later reach number one in more than 25 countries and sell in excess of six million copies worldwide.

Cold Shoulder
Adele explained to the Sun newspaper January 18, 2008 about this Mark Ronson collaboration: "It's about being cheated on. Wishing you were the other girl. I love the tune. I've loved Mark since his first album Here Comes The Fuzz. But I didn't know he'd got into producing for other people. Then when Amy's (Winehouse) record and Lily Allen's 'Littlest Things ' came out, I remembered hearing about his covers album. I wrote my song 'Cold Shoulder' and my label XL were really keen to keep it how it was. But I thought it needed a beat because the album was lacking a real upbeat club tune. And I couldn't think of anyone else but Mark Ronson to do it.

Confessions Prt. 2
Usher - Usher
This was a continuation of a song "Confessions Part I," which describes a one night stand. Creep
This is about a woman who is not happy with her man, so she sneaks around ("Creeps") and cheats on him.

It Wasn't Me
The song is about a guy who gets caught cheating on his girl, but denies it even though he is clearly guilty. It was inspired by a comedy routine Eddie Murphy performed in his movie Raw. Murphy said that no matter what your girl accuses you of, never admit to anything, just say "It Wasn't Me."

Keep on loving you
REO Speedwagon - The Hits - REO Speedwagon
Before REO Speedwagon recorded this, they were known as a hard rock band. Keyboardist Neal Doughty initially had concerns about recording this love ballad, but his fears were allayed when this proved to be a breakthrough hit for the band. He recalled to Noisecreep in a 2011 interview: "During the making of the Hi Infidelity album, most of REO Speedwagon was going through some kind of personal turmoil. I'm talking about divorces and all sorts of crazy stuff. I remember when Kevin played me 'Keep on Loving You' for the first time I was a bit apprehensive about recording it. You have to remember, up to that point we were known as a rock band and here was this soft song.

Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taki
Maximum Panic! at the Disco - Panic at the Disco
The song seems to deal with cheating, as evidenced by the video, where everyone has fish tanks surrounding their heads. We see a girl walking down the street who notices a stray fish (representing a boy). She picks it up and puts it in her tank (representing sleeping with a boy). Her boyfriend finds out and dies. She discovers him, and does the same. The ambulance team, played by the band, puts them in the water, where they are reincarnated, never to surface again.

Mr. Brightside
NOT Correct Album (2008)
Killers guitarist Dave Keuning wrote this about lead signer Brandon Flowers' ex-girlfriend who cheated on him. Flowers recalled to Q magazine March 2009 how he discovered her with another man at the Crown and Anchor pub in his hometown of Las Vegas: "I was asleep and I knew something was wrong. I have these instincts. I went to the Crown and Anchor and my girlfriend was there with another guy." Flowers added that the song was "born" at the Crown and Anchor.

The End
Foiled - Blue October
This song is about a man who comes home to see his wife in bed with another man. He starts outside the house watching until he builds up so much rage that he sneaks into the house and up to the room. The character then confronts the two in the act and (many explicative words later) decides to kill them one at a time while the other watches. The man then turns the gun on himself. The lead singer Justin Furstenfeld said that this is the song that gave the album a parental advisory sticker.
