Weed, Hash and Coffee-shops

The first weed I have tried with my wife. It was some natural weed grown outside, I forgot the name but I'm not sure it actually had one. Anyway, to be honest, it was so soft, we smoked another joint almost right away and, even after this one, we didn't feel much anything. So, it was a rather disappointing first attempt.

For the 2nd kind of weed, I went for some good old skunk, knowing that there was a fair chance that we would be, my wife and I, completely stoned afterwards. Eventually, it turned out to be much stronger than I expected and my wife was completely stoned out of her mind for at least 3 hours... I thought she would be really pissed off the day after but she actually laughed about it which was really unexpected.

After some rather mixed results with some Afghani (read underneath), I thought it was time to try again some other weed. Contrary to the White Widow which is pretty much classic, I had never heard of this one before. To be honest, I didn't notice much difference with the WW, the taste was very similar and the effect was pretty much just as massive.

Even though it has a rather exotic name, it is basically just another skunk. Still, it has a really nice smell and a very strong effect. Eventually, it was not bad but, so far, I still prefer the White Widow.

Apparently, it is supposed to taste like like bubble gum so I was rather intrigued. Eventually, my wife really loved it (the taste, the high, everything) and it is her favorite kind at that point. Personally, I'm not a huge fan. I mean, it does have a sweet smell but the effect is not great and I don't feel much euphoria with this but just some huge pression on my brain.

Even though my wife insisted that we should only smoke some Bubble Gum from now on, I still wanted to try some other flavors first. I never heard of this one before, but the name was pretty cool and the smell was not bad. Concerning the effect, it was decent but I haven't been really impressed by this one.

Even though my wife asked me once again to buy some Bubble Gum, they have apparently stopped to sell it at HI/LO, so, I had to get something else. I didn't mind since I always find it neat to try something new. To be honest, I think it must have the lamest name I came across so far but, fortunately, the weed itself was pretty good with a nice taste and a pretty strong high.

It is basically some rather strong weed exclusively sold at the Hi/Lo coffeeshop in Utrecht. I have to admit that it smells pretty damned amazing but, according to my wife, it actually stinks. Anyway, the effect was not bad but nothing really amazing though.

I really liked the name and it really had a solid reputation but, eventually, I thought it was decent but not much more, I'm afraid.

The other day, I was at the coffee-shop and I noticed that they had this new breed of weed so I thought I might as well give it a try. Well, my wife who smokes hash mostly for medical reasons didn't want to know anything about the damned thing at first but she still managed to smoke 2 joints with this stuff the first time around. In my case, I loved the smell and the taste was not bad as well but the high was nothing really impressive, I'm afraid. Still, I will soon try again though.

Once again, I was at the coffee-shop and I noticed that they had this new breed of weed so I thought I might as well give it a try.

Last summer, my neighboor gave me a very small weed plant to put in my garden. To be honest, at first, I wasn't really thrilled. Indeed, I do enjoy the occasional joint (in spite of what this list might make you think, I really don't smoke that much after all) but growing a weed planet seemed to be so much hassle though. Still, I gave it a try and it was not so much work after all and it was even rather fun to do. Unfortunately, my neighboor gave it to me mid-summer when I should have started to grow maybe 3 months earlier so it ever became very big like his plans (seriously those became around 2 meters tall). Still, I was quite proud with the end-result which you can see above. Regarding the smoking, it took me a while to figure out how to properly dry this plant after you cut it but, the 2nd time around was actually pretty decent. So, all in all, it turned out to be a satisfying experiment after all.

After the White Widow, I thought it was time to try some hash with my wife. Instead of the usual Moroccan kind, I went for the more exotic Afghani. I thought it was not bad, actually more chilled out than the bombastic White Widow but my wife really didn't like it at all and, according to her, she felt like crap for a week after smoking this. As a result, I'm afraid it would be rather difficult to convince her to try some other hash in the future...

Recently, I went to my sister's. My brother-in-law is a huge smoker, borderline unhealthy, but he always has some very good hash so I managed to convince my wife to give it another try. Apparently, it worked and I went to buy this kind which was pretty cheap and therefore not really amazing but I thought it was still pretty decent. At least, it was something else than the usual skunk that we have been smoking lately.

It had been a while since I bought some stuff and there was this new (fairly) cheap hash at the coffee-shop. To be honest, I had never heard of it before and the name was pretty lame. Eventually, in spite of its weird name, it was pretty much just another cheap hash which was decent but not much more, I'm afraid. However, my wife, who hasn't been a huge fan of hashish so far, really loved it which was really unexpected.

I wasn't able to find much information on this hashish. My guess is that 'TB' stands for 'Tblisa' but I'm not really sure, to be honest. Anyway, it looked better than the previous hash I bought so I will definitely give it a chance. Eventually, it was not bad but still rather underwhelming, like most of the hash I got from my usual coffeeshop.

At last, this hash really looks neat and I was really eager to try it. Indeed, the color was good, the texture was nice and it had a nice exotic name so, hopefully, it would be worth it. Eventually, even though it was promising, I thought it was decent but not much more than that, I'm afraid.

At last, I have managed to buy the last kind of hash provided by my local coffee-shop. It definitely had a prestigious name. In fact, something rather weird happened to me when I bought it. Indeed, the guy had the counter actually advised me to buy (the actually cheaper) Hiyah instead. Well, to be honest, I didn't notice much difference but this hash was definitely pretty good.

Since there were selling a new kind of hash at the coffee-shop, I was really eager to check it out. The guy at the counter tried to explain to me what was so special about it and, basically, if understood his story correctly, the makers have sent some seeds from Europe to Marocco. The seeds were from some very strong cannabis plant, and in Marocco, they have produced some hash from these plants, instead of the one they usual use to produce hashish. And, indeed, even though it looks like hash, it does actually smell like weed. Anyway, I wonder how the taste will be but I will soon enough find out.

Of course, the name is pretty cool but it is also a nice hash. It is more powder-like which is always a good sign with hashish and it tastes pretty damned good.

city : Utrecht

The coffee-shop I'm currently using right now. I have actually never been inside but the pictures on the internet make it seems pretty cosy. Above all, it is the easiest one to reach from my house (only 15 minutes driving and very easy to park) and there is a very nice variety of weed (about 10) and hash (about 8). The only minus point would be that they sell only some really strong weed and nothing really chill like some Thai or Jamaican.

city : Amersfoort

It is currently closed right now because there were apparently some gun shots at night outside the shop when it was closed (...). It should reopen in the summer of '15 though. Anyway, it is probably the coffee-shop I have used the most when I was younger. Indeed, it was nothing really fancy but the stuff they sold was decent and it was pretty easy to access.

city : Utrecht

It is a nice little shop but it was a real pain in the ass to locate and, if you come by car, it is pretty much a nightmare to park. On top of that, the biological weed (see above n.1) they sold me was so weak that I didn't feel anything so I'm not sure I will go back there anytime soon in the future.

A very nice and original location. However, even though they are really proud of their 'biological' weed, in fact, it is pretty much the standard very strong skunk that you can find in any other coffee-shop. Since it is the middle of the town center and not really easy to access, I won't go there very often, I'm afraid.

The most visible and touristic coffee-shop in Utrecht but probably not the best one. Indeed, they have this weird policy of allowing customers inside only if they buy something to smoke which is pretty messed up.

city : Amsterdam

In contrary to most of the Dutch cities where at least half of the coffee-shops are now closed, in Amsterdam, there are still a lot of them. I have visited many of those places but it was a long time ago. This one is probably not the best one but it is probably the most famous and it is a terrible tourists magnet.
