Kid A - Radiohead
I'll admit, when I first heard this album, I fucking hated it. I thought it was a pretentious piece of shit that was overhyped. However, one day, I decided to relisten to it.
I was blown away.
Maybe because it came to me at a time when I was feeling stressed, but Kid A really spoke to me in a way that other albums I loved haven't. Yeah it's easy to call it pretentious, but looking closer at it, Thom Yorke's worries and depression here feel natural through all the claustrophobic nature of the album. To put it simply: it showed me that music - and electronic music in general - can be an art form and has made Radiohead my all time favorite band.

OK Computer - Radiohead
Calling OK Computer a masterpiece is like saying that the car is a great piece work. It's incredibly obvious and most people will expect what everyone has said about it already.
And much like the car, most people will agree that is a masterpiece. While some albums fade overtime or just become dated, OK Computer takes a u-turn and just gets better as time goes on. I'd say that much of it has to do that it perfectly captures the paranoia and isolation that people are feeling in the 21st century. Let Down is the perfect example of this. It captures the pain, lost hopes, and mood of what a busy society today is like (Especially ones like New York City). I'd say more, but, really, as much as I love this album, everyone has already said everything that needs to be said about it. If that's not the sign of a classic, I don't know what is.

Neon Bible - Arcade Fire
Many people say this album is overblown and a perfect representation of how over-the-top Arcade Fire can be. In some ways, I can see why. I still think that Funeral is one of the greatest releases of the 2000's, but it was missing something that makes - in my opinion - Neon Bible a superior album: It's pride.
More specifically the build-up of it's pride. The explosions of strings near the end of Black Mirror, how the slow acoustic guitar sounds of Windowsill give way to the grace of the chorus, most of the album has lots more build-up then Funeral which was more of release. Many people may disagree and say that Funeral is the better album, but Neon Bible to me will always be Arcade Fire's best work, as well as one of the greatest albums ever made.

The Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Much like OK Computer, so much has been said about this album, that it's practically engrained in today's society, and I'm not just talking about the million other alterations of the brilliant album cover. I'm talking about the feeling people get when they listen to this album. Listening to On the Run build-up takes me to a nervous place, while the closer (Eclipse) just explodes in it's many observations.
Now, I could leave out what some people overlook on this album, but I feel that it's important to bring up: David Gilmour. Yeah, he killed it on The Wall (Especially - and obviously - comfortably numb), but the guitar playing here are just rich with emotion, adding even more to Roger Water's lyrics. The amount of texture and passion Gilmour puts into his solos here are just a treasure to behold. Really, what more can I say? It's a classic.

Back in Black - AC/DC
I just don't understand how someone can be a rock fan and hate AC/DC, because, when you really think about it, AC/DC IS rock. They have all the energy, all the spirit, all the awesome guitar solos, and most of all: the attitude. With all those qualities, it makes sense why Back in Black has become the best-selling rock album of all time.
The album is just a fun listen from beginning to end. At no point do they change the sound or talk about something serious. It's rock'n'roll all the way. Even though this album is coming close to turning 40, it has lost none of what made is such a blockbuster when it was first released.
