Top 10 Greatest Champions League Final Of All Time

This is one of the greatest Champions League final in my opinion. Liverpool's miraculous comeback victory (aka The Miracle of Istanbul) against AC Milan, is the single greatest Champions League Final of all time.

Liverpool were 3-0 behind in the first half of the match but Liverpool players took the match to extra time with three goals (from Steven Gerrard, Vladimír Šmicer and Xabi Alonso) in the second half.

Extra time ended goalless and the match went to penalties. Jerzy Dudek saved crucial penalties, allowing Liverpool to beat Milan and win the championship.

This was Bayer Leverkusen's (aka Bundesliga's first invicible winners) first UCL Final apperance and Real Madrid's 11th apperance.

At the end of the match, Real Madrid won the cup by beating Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 (thanks to Zinedine Zidane's goal in 45'). Real Madrid became champions again after 2 years. In total, they won the cup for the ninth time in their twelfth final. Bayer Leverkusen, on the other hand, lost their first final.

This was the first time in the history of the Champions League that the final was contested between two German sides.

It was Bayern Munich's 10th European Cup/Champions League fina Dortmund's second Champions League final.

Bayern won the match 2–1 with goals from Mario Mandžukić and man of the match Arjen Robben coming either side of an İlkay Gündoğan penalty for Dortmund.
