Fight Club (1999)
Note: This movie has everything. Great acting, great direction, great story. It entertains you but also makes you think at the same time. A great achievement.

Note: It is probably the movie I have most seen in my life (20 times ? 30 times ?). I saw it when It came out. I was 15 years old and I was struck by how simple and complex it is. A great movie.
johanlefourbe's rating:
Note: The first Dogme movie was just great. No special effects, no big stars just a simple and pure movie. It was also the first time I felt nauseous after watching a movie. Not because It was bad but because it was so heavy and emotional. A great movie.
johanlefourbe's rating:
Funny Games (1997)
Note: I'm usually not a fan of psychopath/serial killer movies. I mean they are most of the time entertaining but they are almost never great, in my point of view. This one is the exception. It is so thoughtful and complex. An amazing picture.
johanlefourbe's rating:
Note: This is one of the best Science Fiction movie ever. It has great visuals and a mesmerizing story. If you like to think and being challenge when watching a movie, this is for you.
johanlefourbe's rating:
Note: It is my favorite Johnny Depp movie. It is so poetic. The acting and direction are great. A really mesmerizing picture.
johanlefourbe's rating:
The Truman Show (1998)
Note: It is one of my favorite movies. It's funny, dramatic and thoughtful at the same time. The craziest thing is that 12 years later, "real" TV programs are still dominating the television landscape. A real visionary work.
johanlefourbe's rating:
Assassin(s) (1997)
Note: This is the 3rd movie directed by Mathieu Kassovitz (La Haine, Gothika) and I think it is actually his best one.
It is an about an old hitman (Michel Serrault) who's getting old and wants to retire. But before that, he picks up a young boy literally from the streets and teach him his "art".
A terrific movie and one of the best movie I have ever seen.
johanlefourbe's rating:
American Beauty (1999)
Note: I found it was a great movie . Very good acting, very good direction, captivating story. What else do you need ? For once, the Motion Picture Academy had it right !
johanlefourbe's rating:
Cemetery Man (1994)
Note: It is a really weird movie and I find it great. I have seen quite a few movies with Rupert Everett and it is only great one. Nice story and direction. A real cult classic.
