all of the films directed by Steven Spielberg from what I consider his best (or, my favorite) to his lesser movies (nearly all of which I really like nevertheless; I consider only a couple of them as "not so great") as of the date June 6, 2022
all films listed had a theatrical release somewhere in the world
the only excluded film is 1983's The Twilight Zone, an "anthology film" based on the television series of the same name on which he was a producer and also for which he directed one of 4 separate stories (Mr. Spielberg's was "Kick the Can" starring Scatman Crothers)
as of this date, I have only listed the films; shortly I hope to write a brief paragraph for each describing my reasons for each movie's placement
finally, I have yet to see either The BFG (2016) -- I somehow missed its theatrical run -- so I'm placing after the list; I will include it once seen
