Every year I end up seeing more movies in cinemas, and every year it becomes increasingly apparent why I cling onto cinemas so dearly. Cinema, or at least mainstream cinema, is on its deathbed – no, the entire world is veering closer to death. Everything is unquestionably about to get worse. You should be as afraid as you should be determined. But there is still some good in cinema that can make it through all this AI poisoning, fascist ruling, queer suppressing, genociding and tax write-off-ing………right? Movies can still be good and meaningful, right? Ha ha ha ha… Right?!
