Listal made me watch these :D

I feel like 86% of listal users actually praise this movie because they love it, 8% praise it for the sake of praising and rest oppose it.

I praise it because I first hated it and then on 2nd viewing liked it and I am glad I did. :)

Can't praise it enough. If you have seen my other lists, you know I love this movie so lets go to next movie :)

oh and the giraffe made me watch mostly, he praised it so much so I thought let's do it :)

It's very underrated in terms of people seeing it. I watched it frankly because of Xanadon't and johanlefourbe's rating,(because at that time I was following only them) it's not quite often that you see both of them giving highest rating to a film so I thought let's see it and I agree with them, it's really cool and I enjoyed the whole concept and yup cinematography is great and stroyline is pretty compelling.

Do see it if you can :)

so finally FINALLY i have watched this movie. I found this movie fascinating in so many ways. I liked the screenplay, very tight and very well written. I loved the slow motion action, I have seen many films copying that, mostly Indian and plus in our film class we got an idea of how they did it so it was very cool to finally sit down and watch it.

It's a science fiction movie so I didn't bother very much to go in why's and what? but I did like the world is in your head, and your senses define reality things. This is very true.
rest I believe is a beautiful fantasy so for me this movie rocked big time. :) I was so involved in the movie, couldn't press frwd, let's hope sequels are better too.

update1: watched part 2. the film had so many why's that at one point I felt like Neo has only this dialogue. lol fights were bit draggy but I loved slow motion effects and yup trinity is better than jolie in salt. (dance in zion was like people dancing in cave era, weird)

update 2: watched 3rd part, it was good, not great because i was suppsed to cry for trinity which i didn't (i am a cry baby so it was a big disappointment). a trilogy ended with questions, which is not a good thing for a movie running for 3 movies.

should you watch? yes absolutely. it deserves a viewing. :) and after 1st part you are bound to see sequels so lol won't say don't, DO.

Such a cool movie, it has this engaging quality in it that kept me so interested because frankly this movie is happening mostly at one place with 2 characters (played by same actor, sam rockwell, I am a fan of him now) and one robo. its awesome really plus it shows how much important it is for a movie to have a great storyline rather than mind numbing actions and expensive actors (and a hot lady)

I am so glad I watched this movie, such a great movie. takes its time to built on you but yup definitely worth a look :)
and that reminds me of the quote "eyes are the windows of your soul"

frankly I type a lot for my fav movies but this movie, I believe words can't describe it. you have to watch to feel it :)

LOL. I loved this documentary because I have studied graphics and I appreciate graffiti so it was like a ride in joyland. I was laughing so much in the end. won't spoil for you and yes one more thing, end was not supposed to be funny, but i found it so ironic and couldnt help laughing.

I found this movie very interesting and I liked it a lot. the end for me was a bit disappointing, I was so emotional, wished it had alternative acting besides I wasn't expecting such decision from meryl in the end either! was very surprising but lets not spoil the movie :D

Where to begin, I have yet to find someone shouting against this movie :)

It is a cool movie with a great screenplay and cinematography. Kristin Dunst character i found bit annoying and her story angle was weird too but I understand story needed her action in the end so its fine!

By and large a good movie!

It's a cool movie, had its moments with me. I enjoyed certain scenes and found many dialogues that were interesting. acting is great no doubt, but somehow I couldnt make a relation to this movie, a kind of fondness i have for other coen movies like a serious man or no country for old men.

its good nonetheless.

its on most of the lists, not as much as other movies on this list but I watched it because of listal so here it is.

story is fine, its sports film so it couldn't be unpredictable but I thoroughly enjoyed Bale's acting and the sisters of micky. overall not bad! (if not great)

Its a good movie, i think its over hyped though. nonetheless cool movie, if not great!

I prefer butterfly effect over donnie darko if you take time travel into an account (other then that both are very different).

I am giving it an 8 for screenplay which is quite engaging but its a fine movie. Just don't expect too much if you havnt seen it yet!

I watched it because of the hype and cinematography and the fact it is kubrick movie. (I love shining)

It is cool has a thoughtful message and makes you think about human psychology. cinematography was surprising, wasn't expecting this from a 1971 movie. worth a look if you want to.

I am giving it 6 because at one point I didn't care about Alex at all or where movie would be heading so watched it in 3 sittings.

to be frank I did watch this movie when i was I guess 17 and I stopped it within 20 mins of playing this movie. I thought it was so boring!

this year i watched it and I now appreciate this movie, but was not going to if listal didn't have it in so many lists.

note: F word is so in abundance that you feel like it is a competitor to south park bigger longer and uncut.

bit over-rated and over-hyped. very ironic though. plus why is it in twisted ending lists, I was so hoping for a twist till the end. and no end wasn't a shocker either. so yeah bit disappointed.

its a time pass movie for me! nothing great, nothing bad! I just figured out story within 30 mins (I kept hoping something would be different though) but disappointed.

I am disappointed. Its a Trantino movie, my current top director but it was disappointing.
start was awesome, I couldnt ask for more. Hans character, the actor Christoph Waltz is awesome. I didnt care for brad pitt because of him (who was little bit annoying because of the face he was making, but may be it was character's demand but still..if you are against hans who's eyes speak and whose gestures are so perfect you can't compete by making an odd face and weird accent)
the 1st half was great, 2nd half was not. I can write all my disappointments here but i don't like writing spoilers.
i am giving it an 8 because of the acting of hans and the opening scene, otherwise would have given it a 6.

In lot of ways it is like goodfellas and I am not saying it because of joe pasci and deniro's presence in both movies.

narrative is very similar, end is somewhat same too. I always find martin's movies interesting, very explained. He makes sure everything is very well justified in the end. but this was little bit disappointing.

so when the movie started I was very interested, the narrative worked and deniro and pesci were taking turns in narration but after 30 mins or so I got bored of this continuous narration. you see, it was like a slide show, where someone was briefing you and you were seeing it happen in live motion. in parts it works, in parts its boring and in parts its annoying.

Overall, Casino works in parts, in parts its boring. I give it a 6 because of the continuous narration that I got tired of.

first off, hats off to steven speilsberg for making such movie back in 1975. It must be mind-boggling and wow, its really cool.

I am watching it in 2011, after seeing lots of thrillers, horror and sespense movies so yes most of the time, it didnt work for me. But this movie is great and if you really want to be like "a movie person" then sure you have to see it. this film cannot be ignored! :)

a solid 9 for visual effects and last intense moments. :)

What a heavy and long film. phew!!

I dont think I'll be re-watching it in the next years, may be I wont re-watch it at all.
it's bit cliched, but performances are top notch. I was looking forward to daniel Day Lewis performance and I am glad I wasnt disappointed. his hiar cut was very odd but akkhh what the hell, it was great anyway!

over all a movie which is not a time pass movie, it deals with heavy stuff and frankly I was with the butcher side mainly because we had Afghani people in Pakistan after 9/11 and they practically destroyed local people's jobs.

I have heard great things about this movie! hmmm I wasn't surprised and happy! perhaps because I have seen mental illness dramas films before, I have seen an Indian copy of this movie!
I just wasnt impressed! I don't know why!

Akira! Akira! giraffe recommended this movie to me and I am glad he did! it has HUGE sets and sometimes I was in shock at how much people they animated in one scene. It has really really cool vehicle shots! story wise It took me bit of a time to understand what was happening but you HAVE to see it for its awesomeness!

Alien series is amazing!
I downloaded quadrology and watched the whole series in 4 days! (I am one of those people who think 1 movie per day is good! :D ) Alien is first movie series that I watched with my sister! :)

Alien 1 was amazing, I was attentive all the time. Thinking that this was made in 1979 makes you appreciate it more. Sets were amazing!

Alien 2 was a HUGE drama! I loved every bit of it. Me and my sister were so involved in it. Run! Run! is what we were shouting! lol was huge fun!

Alien 3 was the problem. I am still pissed off at the killing of Newt! WTH! what was the point of whole movie 2 ending! and then later a doctor sleeps with ripley and whole romantic thing gets developed and just when you know about his past, aliens kill him! WOW! I was so pissed off I paused the movie and went for a break! Just like Matrix they made a female heroin go epic and just like matrix they made me not cry when she decided to die! Epic fail! how on earth can you not make a person cry for main lead's death!


Alien 3 ending leaves a little room for 4th movie but they made it so for that, yayyy to them!

so Alien 4 has a low rating as well but the thing is it is better than 3rd! it does not make you attach yourself to characters since right when you are getting attached to them, the movie goes on! Some scenes are very artistic but yeah ending was bit odd!
I was like awww! and felt sad but then what can you as a audience do when producers and directors make a mess!

Its not an easy movie to review. I t has so many emotions, strong performances and subliminal messages. It is made in the form of the movie that you make in your head while reading a novel.

It is about the life of a man, his surroundings, his emotions and his questions about death.
A friend of mine who is much older than me appreciates it a lot, I watched this movie and it didnt affect me as much it did to him. When I discussed this with him he said its probably because in this movie you relate yourself to main lead because of his personal struggle with relationships, a personal fear of losing someone very close to him, trying to rebuild relationships, question death and the course of this life death circle. I agree I have yet to go through these all but if you are struggling, this movie is for you!

In all my honesty, I have to admit, I never liked western movies before. I was under the impression that these have mindless action and shouting and I have very much Bollywood to blame for that since they copied westerns into their movies a lot of time so when I started watching this movie, I was shocked.

This movie was made in 1966 and we all know, sort of, that in that time of movie making we always had long shots because of editing problems for example, we might be seeing a delivery boy coming all the way from the gate to the actor standing at the door to deliver package. Comparing that to the fast moving story of modern movies, many viewers might be tempted to press forward during this movie and I was believing that I would be doing the same, heck I do it even in already fast paced story lines but no I couldn't.

The reason is very simple and kind of personal for me. The pauses in story, long shots are kind of mesmerizing for me. They remind me of the sheer joy of just sitting on the bench in an evening and watching the sun go.

Coming back to movie, storyline is very nice. I was amazed by the cinematography, the lights, the whole placement of actors objects in the scene and it seems like they guy behind staging knew his business too damn well. The characters are great and you like the whole character development as you go along.
scenery is epic and music is great. I won't like to put storyline here, you can find that on imdb and no comments there, go blind in it and you will not be disappointed.
A must watch!
