Drive Me Crazy (1999)
Popular preppy Nicole gets Chase instead of his unpopular rocker/alternative (for want of a better classification) ex-girlfriend, Dulcie
vraifriandise's rating:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992)
Buffy is a vapid, airhead cheerleader who would have died in the first five minutes of any other horror movie but was the heroine of this one.

Slap Her, She's French! (2002)
Stereotypical "Libby" Starla wins over the apparent sweet foreign exchange student, Genevieve.
*released in the U.S. titled: "She Gets What She Wants"
vraifriandise's rating:
Popular (1999)
Although it had an open-ending, everyone involved, including the creator, states that Harrison was going to choose popular "pretty girl" Brooke over his best friend "homely girl" Sam.

Roll Bounce (2005)
Regulation hottie Naomi winds up with Xavier instead of his friend Tori, but to be fair, he and Tori were only friends anyway. Notable in that, usually, her character would have been set up as a potential love interest/rival to the popular chick character.
vraifriandise's rating:
In the movies and television, it seems any girl who likes wearing pink and cares more about her appearance will never win, or at the very least, will get a come-uppance of some sort, whereas the tomboyish/less conventionally girly character is always the winner. It has been done so much, sometimes I find myself rooting for that type of girl, specifically because she has been so relegated to the loser role.
