1980s Madonna is a Copy Paste

Madonna will never create the kind of music that Debbie Harry has made-with or without Blondie. Parallel Lines, Eat to The Beat, Auto American and Hunter are seminal albums that fused all styles. Koo Koo was art rock. Madonna just will never measure up to her originality and what Debbie Harrry represents to music history.

Pat Benatar's voice alone blows Madonna off the stage and even with red sandals she can't pull off the spandex like the Queen of Rock n Roll can.

It is sad to read how pro-Madonna Chrissie was in the 80s. I wonder if after watching madonna allow mass game hunting on her poxy faux ristocratic estate and wear dead animals that she's changed her mind?

Dale Bozzio fronted an amazing band called Missing Person. "Spring Session M" is perhaps the greatest of the 2nd New Wave albums. Wore lingerie and bustier/bust defining stage wear long before Madonna did and clothing designs which Madonna stole out right. Yes, Lady Gaga owes her a HUGE thanks as well. Dale is an original.

Wore fetish and PVC before madonna did. Nina Hagen was simply far too unique, out there and authentic to make fetish a Wal mart brand like Madonna sadly did.

From Madonna Revelations Blogspot:
" Nina Hagen had moved to U.S... conveniently around the time Madonna landed New York's music scene... Back in those days, Madonna was struggling and learning, her style was also more punkish as she was imitating Chrissie Hynde's style and sound. In addition to (most likely) hanging in the very same clubs Nina Hagen might have, a Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis dated Hagen through 1984-1985...Madonna knew about her, so... when Madonna decided to wear a pink wig while promoting Like A Virgin in Europe, the connection was more than obvious."

Many think Lady Gaga stole the cover of True Blue.
No. Madonna stole it from Garbo.

Jean Seberg. Madonna deliberately copied her gamine look (hair, striped shirt) in the Papa Don't Preach video. Why was Madonna pretending to be a pregnant teen with her teddy bear when she was 28 years old?
SuperAmanda's rating:

Did a muscle man, thick waisted version of Bardot and her button up dress in the "Cherish" video which was 100% STOLEN from Vadim and BB's "...And God Created Woman." Also stole her makeup and hair styles DOZENS of times. The jewel encrusted body stocking from the early 90s was ripped off pre-internet when Miesel and Madonna were certain few would notice or have to original pics to disseminate.

Madonna does a terrible imitation of the Cincetta goddesses and as an Italian this does not surprise me. She was at least not stupid enough to attempt Sophia Loren whom, as with La Lollo and Claudia Cardinale, physically and talent wise she is the complete opposite of in every way.
SuperAmanda's rating:

Actually, madonna did make one very stupid attempt at copying Sophia. Sophia Loren is my most favourite actress so this makes me particularly peeved but thankfully (for Madonna's sake) she wisely gave up.

Back in the 1980s Madonna had "one of Sophia Loren's gowns flown" in for her first Vanity Fair shoots (above right). There is enough material left in the cups to house a family of five. I'm sure the waist was too small for her as well. Sophia Loren, an amazing actress at 5'8 38D-24-38 and the most beautiful face in history is not a goddess that Madonna could even replicate with high end computer retouching much less swimming in one of her gowns.

(Above. Herb Ritts, photoshop or nature could not give Madonna ANY of Sophia's many beautiful features.)

The Bullet Bra worn with long black gloves was long a fixture of Bettie Page's work who in the pre-internet 1980s, was mostly unknown to the general public.

Express Yourself is considered Madonna's greatest video of the 1980s. It is also a COMPLETE RIP OFF of Fritz Lang's "Metropolis". If Lady Gaga did a similar video using an old Hollywood film the press would flip out. Here are two videos and an essay detailing the

Madonna stole the authentic bi/sexual lesbian vibe from Bernhard and turned it into the "Girls, Gone, Wild" vanilla Bi-chic we see today. It was Bernhard's association after all, who took Madonna away from being a mainstream bubblegum/apolitical Boytoy to someone who actually offended the bubblegum mainstream due to their faux intimacy.

Sad imitation of the original.

THE TRUTH ABOUT MADONNA IN THE 1980s

Copying and plagiarism was central to Madonna's rise to fame. Suddenly she was EVERYWHERE copying and imitating in major magazines, films and on MTV around the clock and around the world. Madonna added a vulgar, cheap tease effect to pull in tons of attention-though ALL of this was accomplished with a media that was working in symbiosis. REMEMBER, there was no internet to complain in the 80s-the media ruled and the media LOVED Madonna. If you liked music and pop culture you took what you could get from magazines, TV, newspapers and the radio.

The Boy Toy of the Reagan Era had made her name with zero originality.

Ask anyone who was there and they will tell you that women's AOR rock was obliterated and the media had Madonna EVERYWHERE you looked. Whereas women had been on the cusp of cracking the boys Rock club via fronting bands and being guitarists, Madonna's bubblegum pop obliterated the media focus on Debbie Harry, Cyndi Lauper, The GoGos, Pat Penatar, Joan Jett, Heart and woman's rock as a major force on the charts has never recovered. Many female rock acts like Heart and Pat Benatar, had to go into a more over produced mainstream sound to stay on the charts and keep working. Women who had been famous and done it ALL long before Madonna had were all compared to her as if they were now newcomers!! Within about a year Madonna was the ONLY standard and she had arrived there primarily by copying others.

The media and Madonna's PR actually bullied people en masse if people dared pointed out that she was trashy and unoriginal. Whiny missives were issued like "if you don't like it why do you care?", "you must be jealous" or "if you don't take her seriously as an artist it may be time for some personal revaluation of your own." For the first time a bubblegum pop star being held to zero standards of vocal or acting talent was beyond reproach. You could not look away from the world's most overrated and over hyped pair of B cups-Madonna was like pop culture disease.

Madonna's so called "80s curvy/chubby phase" was all hype and she was/is built nowhere along the lines of Monroe or the screen goddesses she and the media have erroneously compared her to. Madonna has plagiarized eras where women were trim, soft, hourglassy and feminine not muscular, pumped up and hard. Her "34C-24-34 measurements" are also total fiction at any point in her career. I make this point not to denigrate women's bodies (as Madonna herself has done on many occasions) but to point out that Madonna is the specific mass media/cultural break (along with the 1980s Supermodels) where the mass media started falsely tagging thin/sinuous women as "curvy and voluptuous". Early on Madonna also peddled herself as far more buxom and curvy than she actually was in a similar fashion that we see today in Katy Perry endlessly and falsely) bemoaning "how she hated her huge(sic) breasts".

All the rip offs copy paste from the 1980s.
Next time you call Lady Gaga a "Madonna rip off" think twice because no one can steal from the biggest thief of all.
