A black comedy made on a shoe string budget. The comic scenes are too hilarious particularly the Mahabharat Scene is the highlight of the film.
santanu's rating:
A modern day classic. The multi layered story and some superlative performances are the pillar of this patriotic film and A.R.Rahman created some great music in this film.

Chak De! India (2007)
ShahRukh proves himself once again in this inspirational tale of Indian women hockey team conquering the world. Underdog sports films aren't that rare in hollywood but for Bollywood this one came as a welcome change. A well choreographed and well performed cinema.

Dil Chahta Hai (2001)
Again a modern day classic which just changed the way buddy films are to be made in Bollywood. A superbly directed film that has just about everything to entertain even the most intellectual viewers.

Some films become immortal despite having all the usual clichés and defects. We love them for the X factor I guess. This is one film that has been a heartthrob for our entire generation. Never did I find it flawless but still I loved it.

3 Idiots (2009)
This is a kind of film that grows on you slowly. Honestly I did not like it the first time I had watched it but after watching it thrice I must say that I was wrong. Okay there are certain scenes I still do not like but all in all a very good film never the less.

Sholay (1975)
Some says that this is the best hindi film ever. I don't think so but I must say that the presentation alone makes it a must watch. The fact that this is almost a rip off of The Seven Samurai does irritate me but still there are enough in it make it as one of the best films made in Hindi.
santanu's rating:
Again a cult classic from the legendary director Guru Dutt and believe it or not this was a box office disaster. But I just loved it as an iconic cinema.

One of the most underrated Hindi films. The first Hindi film directed by Mani Ratnam had a certain rawness attached to it. Despite having some minor glitches in the narrative, its a very good film never the less.
