Thoughts: Okay okay, maybe this should have been ranked higher but I find James Van Der Beek's voice so incredibly annoying that it goes here. I really hated Dawson's Creek (and his character in How I Met Your Mother). And yes yes I could have just watched the sub version, but I got lists to make! And I want to rewatch these in the background while I make lists.

Thoughts: I do admit that I find My Neighbour Totoro quite dull. I feel like it would be incredible but for anyone under the age of 8.

Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)

Thoughts: I find this movie to be the most Hollywood-ified. I mean that it follows a traditional Hollywood narative, much more so then any other of Miyazaki's films (except maybe Howl's Moving Castle). However this was my favourite when I was young and still holds a special place in my heart.

The Boy and the Heron (2023)

Thoughts: I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. Holy mother Robert Pattinson is unrecognisable, to the point I checked multiple times after that he was actually the voice actor from the heron. I have tentatively put this here in 3rd but may reconsider upon rewatching to conclude that it is not recency bias.

Spirited Away (2001)

Seen: Rewatched recently but can't find proof on my Letterboxd. Have seen a heap of times.

Thoughts: This anime is so agonisingly beautiful that sometimes it hurts watching it. I would also argue that this is Miyazaki's best film. However this is a list of my rankings and I allow myself to be bias, so therefore it comes in second.

Howl's Moving Castle (2004)

Thoughts: I just love this anime so much I could watch it everyday. I love all of the characters, I love the arc and I also love it because it has romance. I'm also a big fan of the book and Diana Wynn Jones.
