I felt things.

This description is for this list in general. A number of my comments are really dumb and sometimes even hateful but I want the freedom to do that.

The Blond One (2019)
2:32 am, 2/25/2021.

Marco tends to have his actors have a number of scenes with no dialogue but you often know what that silence means. You already know what's going on in their minds from how the actors act, how the scenes are directed.

My bloody heart is pretty much already dead. This is a different story but with the same style of direction. In regards to the story, this isn't romance, this is taking a hammer to a heart and smashing it until it's dust. Like other sad movies, I'm left in dead heart limbo.

Not very related but this was quite more sexual which *snortsIlikedsnort*. I actually really really liked that though. We feel their attraction through this intimacy.

Though people liked the final scene, at how heartwarming it was, being the terrible person I am just skipped it as Id rather ignore he's a father. This is my journal and I wanted to share that.

This is mainly a story of the lead actor of an acting troupe and the man and woman that he connects with for a short time.

A Chinese drama that kept my attention and made me listen to the story.

My thoughts after finishing it:
It's makes you feel empty in that it's mainly a tragic love story where they don't completely connect but they have these feelings for each other. It left me with the feeling of being lost and being stuck with those feelings. This feeling is nice in a way and I appreciate how well this story was told.

Despite this film being made in the 70's, this was quite good with good writing, directing and acting. As this wasn't afraid to show homosexual intimacy, I felt that that made the relationship more real.

As a comment from the amazon page said, the thoughts of monogamy in this film are still prevalent today.

I found this pretty nice. I was hoping that this was good and it was. Some comedic moments but most of it is a pretty good drama.

I kept repeating that they don't get intimate and they didn't.
There is just some disappointment in that but I just really enjoyed this.
Yeah he's cute.

I didn't skip around too much, just the parts that weren't important probably.
As an amazon review described it, it is character focused and slice of life.

I didn't dislike the story or the acting or the directing.
It did well in bringing me into the day of this gay couple.
I want to say this feels similar to "Fun Down There" but I don't remember much from that film.

It's probably boring to say this but this was a refreshing perspective, this young man's family, future, thoughts, friends. This film does well in showing us all that. The film is pretty good on all levels, it isn't focused on their relationship but more so on Greg's, the main character's life and tribulations.

Waded through a number of gay films on Amazon Video until I found a decent one. This may look like a romance but I wouldn't describe it as so. The movie page does a good job on the summary without telling too much.

Semi-replying to a comment I read from one of the customer reviews, I didn't go "meh" at the end even though James probably died. He was kind of being a creep though that doesn't mean he got he deserved. I don't expect happy endings from these films. I also found it....cool that the initial scene in the beginning is from the very end of the story/film. We don't know why we see these blue men in the forest in the beginning but we do at the end.

It took me about a week or 2 to finish this.
Perhaps I couldn't connect with the main character, Leevi, much and that the perspective should've been of Tareq's. I somewhat liked the voice of the actor who played Tareq, it was oddly calm and soft. Perhaps the story of the main character was one that isn't that unique but Tareq's story felt as though it had much more depth and realness to it.

I'm kind of surprised I that I didn't dislike this. I'm thinking this focused on telling its story and main character instead of the meaningless meandering I felt in the "More Scenes from a Gay Marriage" films from Matt Riddlehoover but this has an additional writer.

Lazy Eye (2016)
I was pleasantly surprised by this. This has a significant amount of quality to it that I want in all the films I watch.

05/26/2019 12:21 AM, Amazon Video

Dean, a middle aged graphic designer, gets an email from someone he loved 15 years ago.

The acting, scenes, the story, the characters, the pacing, I pretty much loved all of it. Of all things, the story was damned great.

The relationship between these men was showcased so perfectly in this film but... Dean still loved his husband. We don't get to feel that feeling, what we feel is what Alex feels, wanting to be with the one who is right there in front of you. I'm left with a mess of feelings with sadness being most prominent and happiness almost nonexistent. We do know that his marriage is loving with a few expected faults but what we know learned about Dean and Alex seemed more real than that. This might be seen as a fault of the story telling but I saw it as this film was focused on the relationship between Alex and Brian, no one else. What I felt was that they really did love each other and I'm left somewhat happy from watching this amazing movie.

Beware my kind of dumb note, dunno.
Bisexuals take me away from connecting with characters.
They are who they are but I just become extremely distant, disconnected from them once this is learned.

Light comedy and drama that was pretty enjoyable to watch.

kinda disappointed that the flight attendant doesn't show up again but that wasn't the focus. This ends in a positive note as the husband and wife are both free to find love again. The gay friends felt really unneeded as they were boring and stereo-typically gay and flamboyant basically to serve as comedy relief.

I need to fix my sleeping schedule.

The quote from the Boston Globe is hilarious. I wouldn't call this a love story though most sources say it is. This is pretty quirky, not outrageously comedic and doesn't seem very traditional. I didn't skip through much either nor did I really dislike this. I'm not unhappy I spent my time watching this.

Also, yeah, I also did that bit that goes like "oh heyyyy, I think I remember that guy's face from somewhere..."

I'm surprised that it didn't end with either of them dying which is greaaaaat. They don't kiss and the intimate scene was some hand petting. They really do make an odd couple. I still don't know what Flint did exactly. I thought he just robbed stuff from this lone, dead, old man's house.

This was okay, didn't feel too amateur. The story, characters and relationships were decent and I don't feel like I wasted time watching this.

There are straight sex scenes but I just skipped through them like usual. The gay bits are rolling around on the bed in their underwear. kinda funny.

Wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. A country boy escapes his family home to see what it's like in the city. He's obviously quite different from the people he meets but he gets along with them pretty well.

In the end, this was a nice and comfortable watch. Nothing really dramatic happens nor anything memorable but I liked this a bit for its simplicity.

I'll just jump into the spoilers.

Neither of them die or end up in a hospital.
Being that this was set in Russia, there is that bit of homophobia but it wasn't too prominent.

2 men meet and they share a connection. They share some of their lives, minds, thoughts, and make a lasting connection. This made me feel more invigorated somehow. Eff the imdb rating, I really enjoyed this film.

10/13/2018 1:12 AM, only watched the gay section of the film.
Source: Prime Video

The cover focuses on the homosexual intimacy but there is only like 10% of that in the film.

Watching just the gay section made it like watching a short film and it wasn't even dispersed throughout the film like some other films do.

After being treated the way the son was, I liked it when the son just became forceful instead of just being sad about it. The sensual bits were also good.

Mum (2013)
Satisfied my eternal craving for gay romance.

The ending made me smile deep inside. This also makes me sad as I'll probably have to shuffle through many other gay dramas to experience this feeling again.

My strategy is to watch a couple less happy gay movies before watching a happy one. Happy gay movies ...are lacking.

This story is pretty common in gay themed short films, that of a gay youth having one sided feelings for a friend.

I especially enjoyed the scene where the friend asked what was wrong and how the other young person looked at him with deep longing and replied, "nothing."

I recall this same sort of emotion shown in silence in another gay themed short, After by Eytan Fox.

Wrestling (2007)
I really enjoy watching films where there is this specific deep feeling shared between two men. This is a tiny bit funny, quite sad, and but we have that deep feeling of intimacy there.

The scene at the dinner table when the married man speaks his feelings toward the other man a bit more loudly was quite heart warming.
The ending scene was also pretty strong where they held each other in public, in their wrestling uniforms.

In regards to other's people comments I've read, I don't care if it wasn't real enough.

Chaser (2013)
I somewhat do enjoy watching these films for the sexual aspect and this is quite sexual, a bit dirty as well. Here is an opinion based on personal (shallow) preference: the dude at the end who possibly represents potential freedom for the protagonist is unattractive. He distracts me from the supposed hopeful ending.

A film with a similar theme is Head On.
I pretty much just focused my attention on the sexual aspect so I'm not much of a source of an intellectual opinion.

I found it humorous when it was trying to be. The story and characters weren't terrible. The stories about the fiance, the son and father, and the ending were interesting enough.

I didn't try hard to watch this seriously.

An artistic and mostly silent film that I didn't have patience for. The first sex scene, was heterosexual, bleh. I made no attempt to understand what went on until after that was all over. My sexual self enjoyed the sexual intimate scene between the main lovers. The heterosexual sex scene was probably meant to be symbolic. The main pair supposedly instantly knew they were meant for each other or something. One of my side notes: I think it is annoying to think of realistic depictions of relationships in films and the amount of people who need to comment on that.
gay dude's rating:

The sexual scenes were steamy as perhaps they should be when music and drugs are involved.

The philosophy of Fogi that concerned youth, which may be common to other musicians, fueled the destruction of both of them. This seemed to be the driving force of the story and I thought this story was an interesting one.

The young attractive cop was shown very likely to be the culprit.
After watching this, this pretty much killed me.
I really wanted to see them kiss, the supposed sexual tension I saw or imagined between them kept me interested, I sort of thought the characters were simply going to be plain friends of sorts.
Well, one of them was probably simply manipulative.

Contains heterosexual sex which is expected in movie where a straight guy has questionable feelings for another man. God I hate these scenes.

Mentioning cop mysteries with some romancing...
Autopsy also killed my heart dead.
Very very dead.
The lower rating is due to how much this made me feel sad.
The story, characters, acting, writing are considerably good.

I find it weird when gay romances aren't about two men falling in love and deciding that they should be together by the end. The alternative is empty meaningless shallow fantasy? Is that really alright? Real life is probably a bit lower than the middle of these.

This is a story about a forbidden relationship in a culture that is bound and completely engrossed in rules is how I would describe it. Being placed or choosing to be in one these worlds restricts one's ability to live and feel but I don't believe that this way that these people live their lives are wrong.

Certain people in these lives might have happier lives if they were born at a different time and or a different place but perhaps truthfully, they don't have that freedom, they don't have that chance.

Interesting story, quite well done.
I'll repeat some of what I've read from the imdb reviews.

It was depicted that the main character had a closeness to his family and home, especially to his mother, father, and older brother. Only a few times in his youth, he had some intimate homosexual encounters, one of them shown in the current poster, but he doesn't show any sense of happiness or, perhaps, freedom when he is seen as an adult. The writer of the book told the the actor who played the character as an adult that he needed to act as if he was full of uncertainty.

Futuro Beach (2014)
The story about a lifeguard who enters a relationship with a man whose close friend had died.

The story is kind of odd. The different parts of the film feel too disconnected. I wasn't too much interested in it as I didn't watch it for the drama.

Dumb thoughts now:

My thoughts and opinions are mostly shallow, I want people to know that I know that. I didn't think that the lead was attractive until he grew facial hair and had his hair longer.
My thoughts aren't deep. *snorts*

I'll just jump into the extremely spoiling plot point.
the main character dies.
The straight man he romances apparently stabs him, right at the end.
HEART MURDERING

Depicted quite a bit of homosexual attraction but there was also this hatred of it.

I would have loved if the love triangle ended up as it did in The Sex of Angels, except significantly better as this triangle wasn't bisexual, I would have loved it. Nope, that would've been extremely unrealistic.

I expected this level of drama from countries that are less central, german, french, british, spanish films are possibly more hopeful.

Any hope of having a great film like this where I don't get fucking murdered? Feels like a cold hard no. I greatly dislike being hit with a death. Death seems to very important to these other countries, frankly I'm sick and tired of it. Death is common to drama? People seem stuck on thinking that.

In a real life situation, we would never give such a person any sort of forgiveness nor would he ever be able to earn it.

A recent non-central European gay film that ended slightly less heart murdering was In the Name of, but the films aren't similar.

Zero Patience (1994)
Ah, this was pretty satisfying.

A musical involving a from-the-past british researcher made immortal by the fountain of youth researching "Patient Zero", the person who was labeled as the person who brought over AIDs to North America. Also, Patient Zero comes back as a ghost.

Just a small bit of romance makes me happy. Mentioning ghosts, Undertow was a heartkilling drama. A Magnificent Haunting also had a nice bit of ghost romance but it also didn't end in the romantic way I want all gay romance movies to end.

This didn't end that way either. Wasn't the focus of the film either.

..."I need you."

Elliot Loves (2012)
This was really heartfelt. Elliot was probably very immature but I suppose many of us want to be really loved.
gay dude's rating:
This was extremely haunting. The main character was that kind of man who liked young teens sexually, he isn't creepy either, but I wasn't much bothered by that. What scared me about this film was that the older man was waiting to die while the young men he learned about killed each other.

I don't much know about how realistic this is, perhaps the first younger man was too comfortable in shooting people, but the violence didn't look out of place.

I read somewhere that the young men in this film were actually gang members and it was noted that it was feared that they were probably dead by now. Don't take my word for it though.

I read imdb reviews so I'll bring up some things from there.
Interesting film about homophobia in a small town in America. Coming out before adulthood should be questioned still for gay youth because of all negative things are still possible for them including the possible things that may come from their own friends and family. Regardless, these young people need support. Unfortunately, some youths come out of the closet by ways they didn't choose.

The marriage debate saying that would just open the gateway for wildly different things is incredibly disgusting because the people involved in these relationships are consenting human adults. These flawed arguments stem from just pure hatred and its hard to get through that.

What brought about the changing of people's minds was showing that these people were good and decent members of the community. Doing something like confronting close-minded people probably didn't help matters much.

In the film, there was a gradual change for the positive in the pastor, that was significant in how change can be made.

the rating on this this is too low.
at the lowest, I'd rate this a 5.5.

I found it cute and not too bad.
a bit sappy but I don't mind that.
what I particularly liked was this wasn't filled with drama.

I later learned this was based on the directors own love story. that probably influenced the score quite a bit.

I'm one of those guys who often gets bored and impatient with movies but I managed to sit through most of this and I didn't dislike this honestly. The intimacy, the background of these characters, the characters themselves, they were all depicted quite well. It was a bit slow at times but the pace was okay I guess.

moody and sad coming of age film. made me feel empty.
reminded me of the movie Light Gradient which was also about a young gay couple. The same sort of feeling of a couple wandering off in the woods on their own, together.

skipped a bit, not too much

Yep, apparently, he's attracted to him. the other dude is a bit fucked up though. A truly pitiable person. The main lead was patient and mature where the other one threw an array of "curve balls" as a comment at imdb mentioned.

I probably have watched other german gay dramas and I can't remember much to compare.

woweee. 2 hours and I really needed to sleep.
I enjoyed this.
A korean high school student is told to focus on studying to get into a top university. Suffering from this stress, he looks at an old friend he had in middle school. More than that, he has a crush on him. Unfortunately, his old friend is a part of a delinquent gang.

Quite more realistic than other crummy asian films I watched, this was quite refreshing. Not much of a romance but that didn't bother me. Too much romance would perhaps destroy my suspension of belief.

This gets really sad when they are betrayed and things get violent.

The "bad boy" sure has some interesting pictures in his actor page. (they will ruin this movie for you.)

I pretty much watched this all the way through. It was pretty good.

An aspiring actor who is dealing with depression tries to fix his relationship with his boyfriend.

Well, after the official end of their relationship, I felt a sense of freedom from the main character. I'm sad-ish at the end though.

The beginning felt a bit odd as it was two men being intimate and in love, perhaps it didn't set the overall tone of the film well. From this point, it goes downhill but perhaps it reaches a calm and level path at the end.

Eat with Me (2017)
A Chinese mother is bothered that her husband does not much care about his wedding ring and so she decides to spend some time with her adult gay son. Her son is currently having trouble at the Chinese restaurant that he owns and cooks for and in his escape from his daily stress he meets a musician in a band.

Not so very romancy but less over the top as John Apple Jack. This movie simply ends in a movieish way. The gay scenes are somehow stronger in this film than John Apple Jack which was more about the gay romance.

George Takei does not have an important role in this which is great as he is like the symbol of Asian American LGBT. I also skipped around White Frog which was also about an Asian American family but the only other similar thing is the gay son.

Oh, this has a higher imdb rating than I expected.
