If there is one film that is perfect, it would be Casablanca. It is the perfect blend of action, romance, comedy, and drama. It is filled with wonderful music and simple, yet memorable sets. Bogart is every man's man, while Bergman is the strong heroine every female dreams of being at some point in her life. Every line from this movie seems memorable, and it will not disappoint your date. Watching Casablanca might just be the beginning to a beautiful friendship.

If your date is a friend, or someone who you want to become friends with, this is the perfect film. The moral of the story, friends make the best lovers. This is by far Crystal's best film and Meg Ryan's best romantic comedy. By the end of the film, your date might just say, "Let's have what they're having." That is a lot of fun and romance.

Amélie (2001)
When one talks about a feel-good film, automatically they should refer to 2001's film Amelie. This film is all about changing the lives of others and finding love in the process. Did I mention that this film is French? Is there anything more romantic than that? Break out the wine and indulge in this film.

People remember this classic romance film more today for the multiple references to it in Sleepless in Seattle, than for the actual film itself. If you watch this film, your date will now understand all those Sleepless in Seattle references, and you will be spared from having to suffer watching Rosie O'Donnell.
Lerschy's rating:
The film opens up on Valentine's Day, but this is anything from an ordinary romantic film. The incredible screenplay from Charlie Kaufman creates a movie experience that you and your date will never want to have erased from your memory. However, this doesn't mean that this movie will save you from being erased from her's in the end.

The greatest musical of all time is an understatement for Singin' in the Rain, as it might be one of the great films of all time. Step aside the Notebook, this film has the most iconic film scene involving rain. While, Gene Kelly is fabulous as a dancer and singer, Donald O' Connor steals the show with his comedy. Debbie Reynolds is not all that bad either, perfectly cast as Kathy Selden. By the end of this movie, you will be singing and dancing too.

Rob Reiner knows how to make a romantic film. He has done it more than once. This is truly one of his better films. It is one of those few movies that contains a little bit of every genre. Saving your date from another bad romantic film will never be more fun.

WALL·E (2008)
Wall-E is a rare type of film that only comes around every so often. It appeals to almost everyone and can let the imagination soar. The film will show that you do indeed have a soft side. You will feel like you are back in elementary school on a date at a Disney movie, but feeling like a little kid will never have felt so better.

Grant, Hepburn, and Stewart, three of the greatest film stars to ever grace the screen. Philadelphia story is one of the first major romantic comedies from George Cukor, and probably his best. It promises plenty of laughs and leaves you in the only enjoyable love triangle that you will ever be a part of.

Alright, I realize you might want to watch this on February 2nd, but this is still a great film regardless of which day you watch it. Bill Murray is at his best in this film. After your day is over, you might want to repeat it.

City Lights (1931)
Sometimes you and your special someone might just want some quiet time. Well, sit down and watch this classic Chaplin film. There won't be any sound to ruin the mood, and the end of the film is one of the most moving in all of cinema history.

An adult romance-comedy film, it is simple, clever, very funny, and that really isn't as much about love as it is about friendship. Simply, it is a modern masterpiece. Note: If she doesn't want to believe that Bill Murray can play a more serious role and she is only likes 80s Bill Murray, she may hate it. If she likes Stripes, you might want to select another movie off this list.

The first true epic movie in color, it is full with grand sets, amazing costumes, and very memorable characters. The chemistry between Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh is perfect. Hey and you never know what could happen if she gets bored of the 238 minute run time.

She will love it. You will probably hate it. The Notebook is a cliche romance movie that captured the heart of every girl in America in 2004. However, even though it is cliche, it is pretty well made, especially the iconic scene on the lake.

Valentine's Day is all about your sweetheart, or at least it should be. This means that you will probably want to watch a movie or two with her and cuddle up on the couch. You could even watch one everyday until Valentine's Day approaches. Here is a list of movies that will fit the mood of romance, or might just make you two laugh. Just remember popcorn...and roses might help too.
