In Bruges (2008)
I never had heard of this one. Just got lucky to find it in listal and became interested. But truely it was an owesome film.

Trivia:

Except for the flashback, Ray(Colin Farrell) wears a single outfit throughout the whole movie. While he does remove his jacket and unbutton his shirt, he has no other change of clothes. Ken(Brendan Gleeson), on the other hand, has several wardrobe changes.

I am neither a fan of Bruce willis nor Josh Harnett, but they actually did good in this flick.

Trivia:

Josh Hartnett (Slevin) lived with writer Jason Smilovic and his girlfriend in New York while the script was being written. Smilovic said that he thought of having Slevin wear a towel a lot of the time because he saw Hartnett in one so often. More so it added a vulnerable quality to Slevin.

Kick-Ass (2010)
Had its rating be a little lower, i wouldn't have watched it ever, but it turned out to be one of my favourite comic strip adaptation.

Trivia:

After being rejected by every studio they approached, Matthew Vaughn raised the budget at a dinner party and made the movie independently. Vaughn ultimately sold the movie to Universal for more than he had originally asked them for.

one shouldn't carry any bag pack while selecting a movie to watch. Besides clooney looked very cool in it.

Trivia:

A large amount of the people we see fired in the film are not actors but people who were recently laid off. The filmmakers put out ads in St. Louis and Detroit posing as a documentary crew looking to document the effect of the recession. When people showed up, they were instructed to treat the camera like the person who fired them and respond as they did or use the opportunity to say what they wished they had. A way to discern who are the actors and who are the real people is that the real people do not have dialogue with George Clooney or Anna Kendrick, as they were shot separately. Jason Reitman did this intentionally, feeling that the real people would freak out Clooney and Kendrick

The Lookout (2007)
A very good film despite the fact that the premise is very common.

Trivia:

To help him play a brain damaged man, Joseph Gordon-Levitt did not get much sleep and worked out hard at the gym before shooting to help him appear disoriented. He also befriended people with brain damage and read "The Man with a Shattered World: The History of a Brain Wound"

State of Play (2009)
I started to watch it just because Russel Crowe was in it, and i am glad i sticked to it.

Trivia:

After Brad Pitt departed from the film, and before Russell Crowe replaced him, other actors considered for the role of Cal McAffrey were Johnny Depp, Nicolas Cage and Tom Hanks.

Pleasantville (1998)
Owesome visuals, a must watch.

Trivia:

Director Gary Ross acknowledges these cinematographic homages: - The scene of J.T. Walsh in front of the bowling alley scorecard recalls Patton's speech in front of the American flag in Patton (1970); - The courtroom segregated into black-and-white characters downstairs and "colored" characters upstairs recalls To Kill a Mockingbird (1962); - The scene in which Tobey Maguire spins in the rain recalls The Shawshank Redemption (1994).

Easy A (2010)
Its official now.....that its good be bad. Just a rumour i guess.

Trivia:

The title has several meanings: the "A" refers most obviously to the "Scarlet Letter" of the book and that Olive decides to wear, and "easy" is derogatory, somewhat old-fashioned slang for someone (almost always a woman) who is sexually promiscuous; "easy A" is also an American phrase denoting a school, class, or test that takes no effort to excel at.

It may not be matrix, as it claimed, but its very good.

Trivia:

The film was not given a wide release because it had already run into profit as a result of overseas sales, and Miramax didn't want to risk turning a money maker into a loss.

Following (1998)
if you think memeto was good, then watch it......To me it was even more complex to memeto.

Trivia:

Principal photography of this film took over one year. Because all cast and crew members had other full-time jobs they were only able to film on Saturdays about 15 minutes of footage until photography had been completed.

The Mist (2007)
One of the most misleading film i have ever watched. It strted on a very ordinary note and but the end was terrific.

Trivia:

In the opening shot of the film, David is painting in his room. The picture he's drawing is a design from Stephen King's Dark Tower series of the gunslinger Roland. Another design in the room is that of the poster of John Carpenter's The Thing (1982). John Carpenter also wrote and directed The Fog (1980), which shares obvious themes with The Mist.
santanu's rating:
Its smart, entertaining and precisely it is very good.

Trivia:

The scene where Nick the Greek breaks the glass in the coffee table was not in the original script. It was, in fact, an accident that happened during filming and was written in by Guy Ritchie as an afterthought.
santanu's rating:
Almost a pirate movie yet so differet from Pirates of Carribean.

Trivia:

To create an authentic sense of camaraderie among the cast, they were all housed in special quarters, away from the rest of the crew. Designed like a gentleman's club, there was no TV, and no crew member was allowed in without being invited. It was nicknamed "The Monkey Bar"

A very small but poignant movie.

Trivia:

Kenneth Lonergan - a first time director - had protection from studio interference by his executive producer and friend, Martin Scorsese. They had met when Scorsese's then girlfriend Illeana Douglas had auditioned for one of Lonergan's plays.

Great acting, great direction.

Trivia:

After the release of his previous film, Boxcar Bertha (1972), both John Cassavetes and John Milius advised Martin Scorsese to do a more "personal" project next. That encouragement led Scorsese to finish this script and get it produced.
