Jessica Phyllis Lange (born: April 20th 1949 in Cloquet, Minnesota, USA) is an American actress who has received worldwide acclaim in her work in film, theatre and television.

Her best known films include: 'King Kong' (1976), 'All That Jazz' (1979), 'The Postman Always Rings Twice' (1981), 'Tootsie' (1982), 'Frances' (1982), 'Country' (1984), 'Sweet Dreams' (1985), 'Far North' (1988), 'Music Box' (1989), 'Cape Fear' (1991), 'Blue Sky' (1994), 'Rob Roy' (1995) 'A Thousand Acres' (1997) and 'Bonneville' (2006).

Her best known television appearances include: 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' (1984), 'O Pioneers!' (1992), 'A Streetcar Named Desire' (1995), 'Grey Gardens' (2009) and 'American Horror Story' (2011-2015).

She is the recipient of several awards, including: two Academy Awards, three Emmy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, one Screen Actors Guild Award, one Tony Award and one Drama Desk Award. Lange is one of the few performers who has achieved the Triple Crown of Acting.

In 1998, Entertainment Weekly listed Lange among the 25 Greatest Actresses of the '90s.
