I Don't Belong In This Era

Sort by: Showing 22 items
Rating: List Type:

Leonardo DiCaprio is one of those timeless faces. But it is obvious in movies like Revelutionary Road, Shutter Island, and the soon to be released J. Edgar that DiCaprio's look is more old Hollywood than anything.
Bydusk's rating:

With her classic beauty, Imogen Poots slips more comfortably in period pieces than she does in the modern era.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt fits the modern era perfectly, but his look seems to fit more in the 1950's than they do in this era.
Bydusk's rating:
Average listal rating (3053 ratings) 7.3 IMDB Rating 0

Some may disagree but Megan Fox reminds me more of 1940's glamor than modern day sex symbol.

James Badge Dale was cast perfectly as the 1940's writer in the HBO mini series The Pacific.
Average listal rating (259 ratings) 7.5 IMDB Rating 0

Gretchen Mol's beauty has always reminded me of the classic 1950's silver screen starlets.
Average listal rating (534 ratings) 7.8 IMDB Rating 0

Guy Pearce, like Leonardo DiCaprio, is an actor that fits perfectly in any era. But seeing him in movies like L.A. Confidential and the mini series Mildred Pierce he looks more apart of the golden era of Hollywood than anything.
Average listal rating (2784 ratings) 8.3 IMDB Rating 0

Kate Winslet's classic beauty is flawlessly timeless. But she embodies that old Hollywood glamor so effortlessly.
Bydusk's rating:
Average listal rating (273 ratings) 8.1 IMDB Rating 0

I first saw Lee Pace in the movie Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day and he blended perfectly into the movie's 1930's setting.

Scarlett Johansson possesses the perfect beauty and glamor of the 1950's pinups.
Bydusk's rating:

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is another timeless face. But he has the perfect look for the 1950's. He fit perfectly in that era when he portrayed Elvis Presley in the 2005 T.V. movie, Elvis.

Classically beautiful Natalie Portman's elegance and grace is a throw back to that of Audrey Hepburn.
Average listal rating (274 ratings) 7.9 IMDB Rating 0

Jon Hamm became famous for playing Don Draper on the hit AMC series Madmen. And he perfectly fits as the debonair 1950's gentleman.

The beautiful Sehrilyn Fenn possesses both old Hollywood glamor and elegance. It is no wonder she was cast to play the most beautiful icon of all time Elizabeth Taylor in the 1995 movie Liz: The Elizabeth Taylor Story.
Average listal rating (1868 ratings) 7.7 IMDB Rating 0

With his on screen charisma and charm Jude Law is a throw back to old Hollywood.
Bydusk's rating:

When she played Ava Gardner she flawlessly emanated old Hollywood glamor. But no matter what role she plays Kate Beckinsale seems to always emanate that elegance and glamor.
Bydusk's rating:
Average listal rating (1966 ratings) 8.1 IMDB Rating 0

Amy Adams possess the right amount of charm, beauty, and elegance to be likened unto any of old Hollywood's starlets.
Bydusk's rating:
Average listal rating (75 ratings) 6.9 IMDB Rating 0

Like many actors on this list Aidan Quinn can slip pretty much into any era. However when he played Ulysses S. Grant in Jonah Hex he not only resembled the president but also blended in perfectly with the 1800's setting.
Average listal rating (233 ratings) 7.8 IMDB Rating 0

It is no wonder that Romola Garai is cast mainly in period dramas, her beauty and grace remind one more of a classic painting than a modern movie star.

James Purefoy's looks remind one more of an 1800's gentleman than anything. In movies like Vanity Fair and The Mayor Of Casterbridge he effortlessly slips into the Victorian era.
Average listal rating (758 ratings) 7.7 IMDB Rating 0

Juno Temple's doll like face fits perfectly in period pieces like Cracks, Glorious 39, and Atonement.
Average listal rating (158 ratings) 7.8 IMDB Rating 0

In movies like There Be Dragons and Glorious 39 Charlie Cox seems to embody the everyday man of the 1930's.

There a lot of actors with timeless faces that can easily slip into roles set in any decade. But there are some who look like they come straight from the past.....
