When you compare Alien3 to Alien and Aliens, it's pretty bad and very underwhelming. It makes the big mistake of killing most of the characters from Aliens, that you've grown to care for, during the opening credits. Leaving you with a bad taste from the very beginning. But if you look at it on its own though, it's pretty decent. There are a couple of great ideas in it and a lot of it is handled well. I like the idea of going back to one alien killing off people one by one, and I like the idea that aside from Ripley the rest of the characters are more or less a bunch of criminals that have turned to religion without any weapons to defend themselves with. The premise is certainly there, and as I said, some scenes are handled well. There's a lot of tension in it that works.

The film is notorious for its troublesome production, causing first-time director David Fincher to leave the film before it was finished. Thankfully, he went on to have a wonderful career. But as far as Alien3 go, the problems behind the scenes shines through the material with multiple rewrites directly causing a redundant finale, poor special effects, and underutilized characters. Despite this, Fincher has established an atmosphere that suits the film and the creature well, and it would be interesting to see how Fincher's final vision would have looked like.

Arguably David Fincher's most straight-forward film. The script is kinda generic, and in the hands of a less competent director this could have been a forgettable affair. But when you've got an excellent director in the chair, even the most generic scripts could turn into something brilliant.

This is a film that needs masterful craftsmanship in order to work, and Fincher's your guy for that.

I liked the Swedish version of this story really good, but I like this one even better. It's a story that is perfect for David Fincher, and he shows off yet again that he is capable of creating perfect thrillers. This is darker, grittier, more brutal and realistisc than the Swedish version. His direction is flawless, he is a master in bulding suspense and keeping it there for the whole film. Even though I knew how the story was going to end, he still managed to make it incredibly exciting.

Rooney Mara is an even better Lisbeth Salander than Noomi Rapace. While they both are exceptionally good, Mara manages to bring in an innocence and vulnerability to the character, which Rapace didn't, and that makes Mara's Salander even more interesting. And it got an awesome score, and the opening credits is one of the coolest thing I've ever seen. This is one of the best films of the year, and it shows that remakes ain't necessarily a bad thing if you let a competent director handle it.

While some people were in doubts about a movie about "Facebook", I never doubted. It's after all David Fincher we're talking about and he shows that he is capable of handling drama about friendship and betrayal just as much as chilling thrillers.

This is the craft of a master, and while it benefits strongly from Aaron Sorkin's outstanding script, it is still Fincher's direction that drives this movie. Not to mention the excellent performances from Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield. Garfield got snubbed for an Oscar nomination!

Not the usual kind of film you would expect from Fincher, but the quality of it is still sky high. This is a beautifully told film that I completely fell in love with. It's also a film that gave me a small crush on Cate Blanchett.

I've actually only seen it once. Feel like I need to see it again sometimes soon. Still, it's a film that left an impression me with its "coolness".

I loved Gone Girl. Wow. With no knowledge of the book this film is based on, Gone Girl turned out to be a refreshingly diabolical film filled with brilliant, unpredictable twists and turns. So I'm not going to say a lot. Because you should see it without knowing too much about it.

However, David Fincher has truly created a slick film that sucks you in from the first moment, and completely engages you in the story. I was constantly on the edge of my seat.

Nearly every character in this film has a lot of depth. Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike delivers award-worthy performances. The pacing is brilliant, despite the film nearly lasting three hours and the musical score is great. Masterpiece. Wow. Just wow.

The Game is David Fincher's overlooked masterpiece, and most underrated film. A tremendous thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. There are few films that appeals more to me than a proper mystery, one that keeps you guessing the entire time, and still manages to constantly fool and surprise you. The Game is that kinda film, and it's top-notch.

Even if Seven ain't my favorite serial killer thriller from David Fincher, it's still a perfect film. A wonderfully moody and gloomy thriller that immediately set the standard for this genre. It gives us an engaging mystery, well-developed characters, terrific cinematography and a whole lot of tension. There's a chase sequence somewhere in the middle that is nail-bitingly good. All of this leading up to its haunting finale.

It has a social commentary on moral and ethics that's actually a bit terrifying when you give it some thought. Seven is a film with a lot of depth to it. Making it more or less a timeless classic.

Zodiac is quite a lot of things. It's a masterful portrayal of actual events, sticking very closely to what actually happened during the investigation of the Zodiac killings. It's also an excellent serial killer film in and of itself. David Fincher skilfully manages to create tension out of the unknown, and despite the fact that we already know that the search for the killer ends up in dead ends, the journey there is made with a great deal of suspense. And finally, it's a wonderful portrayal of obsession and how it can completely change the life of those involved.

Fincher's film is long and it does contain a lot of scenes of people talking to each other, but Fincher manages to make Zodiac feel like way shorter than it actually is and once it ends, it leaves you craving for a lot more. The Zodiac killer is a fascinating study for those of use who are interested in that type of stuff, but Fincher adds so much depth, meaning and tension to it. I think it's ultimately his finest film.
