Metal Skin Panic Madox-01 (1987)
OPTIONAL: This series is a "spiritual prequel" to the original BGC universe, written and produced by the same team. It's not "officially" part of the BGC timeline, but it tells the story of the first version of a "personal battle-suit" created in Tokyo in the near future, years before the events of BGC. The suit in this series is viewed by some as a possible early prototype of the suits found in BGC, and the BGC role-playing game also reinforced the idea of this OVA being a prequel to BGC.
(It was released on DVD in 2004, but is now out-of-print.)

Bubblegum Crisis (1987-1991) (2014)
The original BGC series, which takes place in 2033.
(It was released on DVD in 2004, and was available as a crowdfunded limited edition Blu-ray in 2014.)

A.D. Police Files (1990)
This is a prequel to the original "Bubblegum Crisis" (BGC) series, taking place in 2027. It features several minor characters from BGC.
(It was released on DVD in 2004.)

Bubblegum Crash (1991)
After the two companies responsible for BGC cut ties prior to the series being finished, one of the companies produced their own version of an "ending" for the original series. The 3-episode OVA takes place in 2034.
(It was released on DVD in 2001.)

Scramble Wars: Tsuppashire! Genom Trophy Rally...
OPTIONAL: This is a short parody one-shot OVA featuring super-deformed versions of characters from BGC, A.D. Police, and various other related sci-fi series as they embark on a race to win the "Genom Trophy". (The actual year it takes place isn't mentioned nor is it particularly relevant, but you'd want to watch it after "A.D. Police" and "BGC" so you'll recognize the characters & the jokes about them.)
This isn't "officially" part of the BGC timeline, but it does feature characters from the series, and is an amusing one-shot spin-off for BGC fans.
(Note: Unlike all of the other entries on this list, this OVA was released on VHS in 1993 but never on DVD, so it's now difficult to locate in a physical format.)

This series is an alternate re-telling of the original BGC series with its own separate continuity (which also contains "A.D. Police: To Protect and Serve" and "Parasite Dolls"). The story takes place from 2039-2040.
(It was released on DVD in 2011 and subsequently re-released in 2015.)

This serves as both a sequel to "A.D. Police Files", but also as a prequel to the "Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040" (BGCT2040). It takes place in the BGCT2040 timeline, a "few years" before the events of that series.
(It was released on DVD in 2002, but is now out-of-print.)

Parasite Dolls (2003)
This is a 3-part spin-off of the "A.D. Police: To Protect and Serve" series, also set in the BGCT2040 timeline. The first part takes place in 2034, the second part takes place in 2035, and the third part takes place around 2039.
(The 3 parts were combined and released as "Parasite Dolls: The Motion Picture" on DVD in 2012. This was the last series of any kind produced for BGC or BGCT2040.)

This is a list of the order in which it would make sense to watch the "Bubblegum Crisis" anime series, based on release date.
