Upside Down (2012)
DVD- 1hr. 47min.
First Viewing
The visuals are quiet good, and the opening shows promise, but it quickly devolves into mediocrity. There's a story to be had here that's not completely predictable and boring, but the creative team didn't find it.

Netflix- 1hr. 40min.
First Viewing
Jolie's solid performance and a couple of okay action sequences can't save this from being a jumbled, poorly plotted video game.

The Candidate (1972)
DVD- 1hr. 57min.
First Viewing
Bears a few solid insights into politics, but none that haven't been covered more in-depth and eye-opening before. There's also a hollowness that hangs over the picture; as if it's not fully committed to what it's trying to say.

The Call (2013)
DVD- 1hr. 34min.
First Viewing
Decent enough kidnapping-thrilling checks all of the boxes it has to, but end on a stupid note. The ending just felt too out of character to me; way too manufactured.

We get it, youth culture is terrible and millennials are sociopaths waiting to explode. Seen it a thousand times. Not a complete wash though; the cinematography by Benoรฎt Debie is beautiful, the soundtrack perfectly evokes the emotional beats, and James Franco's odd/incredible performance is award worthy.

Bullitt (1968)
DVD- 1hr. 54min.
First Viewing
Fairly slow and low-key, but scenes like the legendary car chase make it worthwhile.

Fey and Rudd make it at least watchable, but completely predictable and unoriginal.

The Host (2013)
DVD- 2hrs. 6min.
First Viewing
It's honestly about two hours of people saying nonsensical and boring things to each other. I swear. There's not much plot, and a lot of staring.
