Mad Men (2007)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"Though its just a cascaded idea taken from the series' opening credits, an effortless translation at that, it's simple and minimalist. But really catches the intelligent eye. "

WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"Well art-directed teasers for the season premiere. I like where the cameras were situated and how the colors imbue the right mood of terror. And how the headlines are a part of the photo's story."
Game of Thrones (2011)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"Game of Thrones" is such a visceral series that for a drop down banner, they only give us these three words: War is Coming. And this simple phrase makes our hair stand up. Of course, its also derivative of the previous "Winter is coming.""
Boardwalk Empire (2010)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"They actually pulled it off. They made a transit ad its own medium by actually using prohibition-era cable cars run the tracks for several days in which passengers seemed to walk inside a time machine. Unbelievable."
Dexter (2006)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"How's this for an outdoor promotion. A working crime scene worthy of the series. A flowing fountain of blood with a police line perimeter. You'd expect Dexter Morgan to suddenly walk in. The poster is unnecessary though."
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"It's funny and smart ass. The problem is, you wouldn't get it unless you're familiar with the show. There's not much sell and I sincerely doubt whether the billboard would make people want to watch "Breaking Bad."
Law & Order (1990)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"Creativity in its simplest form. Effective use of the medium. Unfortunately, its only effective at nighttime."
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"Obviously, this is a window display of a department store. You see, using actual props is costly but done properly, goes a long way. My only misgiving is why they had to add labels to each piece of item. They only add clutter."
Gossip Girl (2007)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"I like these series of ads. The visual...nice cropping by the way...and the naughty headlines / reviews come to you with such force that you're momentarily unable to escape its grip."
Glee (2009)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"The hand gesture means "loser," right? What does it have to do with being in the Glee Club? Well, at least they get to own that mnemonic device."
The Killing (2011)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"Not at all original. It has shades of Twin Peaks. But I do approve of the choice of the girl's photo. The smile. The look in her eyes has mystery. It seems to be telling us something."
True Blood (2008)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"Making ad campaigns for "True Blood" is very envious. There's just so much to go with the whole vampire thing."

Weeds (2005)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"You can say this for each of the ad separately: the picture tells the story. But guess what, its a two ad series running parallel with each other which makes it even better."

WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"It's a first idea. You have a series about prison so naturally, why not make a wanted ad. "
The Sopranos (1999)
WHAT DON DRAPER WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS AD:
"A dummy hand protruding from the trunk. A bumper car sticker. That's all you need, folks."

Some of the most brilliant advertising campaigns were made for television shows. I'd imagine copywriters and art directors having the time of their lives creating them. Here are some of them:
