Love, Simon (2018)
Nice film. A little love mystery but also showing how hard it can be for some people being out. Heartwarming in part.
TKR's rating:
My Life in Pink (1997)
I really wasn't sure about this one because I wasn't sold on the trailer but this was a really sweet, touching film and touches on the realities of this situation and the profound lack of understanding there was and still is.
TKR's rating:
O Fantasma (2000)
This was one creepy film, especially toward the end. The guy is seriously too randy in this film.
TKR's rating:
I Killed My Mother (2009)
This film was something else. Pretty enjoyable and funny. I spent a while trying to get into the heads of the lead character and his mother and trying to choose sides which was fun.
TKR's rating:
A Moment in the Reeds (2017)
I really liked this story and the ending is quite real. The film portrays many things but makes you feel for the characters.
TKR's rating:
Judas Kiss (2011)
I put off watching this film for a while because the trailer really didn't sell it to me but having watched it, I can say the film was alright. An interesting, yet strange crossing of paths.
TKR's rating:
Dream Boy (2008)
I watched the ending about 3 times and still couldn't tell you WTF happened. Till that point, the film was just okay.
TKR's rating:
Jitters (2010)
This was a sweet film. Nothing super special but tells a good story coming to terms with ones inner feelings and the people around you. Sometimes being completely oblivious to what's right in front of you.
TKR's rating:
Akron (2015)
Oh my gosh, this film has some real awkward parts. A lot of emotions in this film but it's a real test of love.
TKR's rating:
Being 17 (2016)
I really enjoyed this film. A really well-produced epic which does a good job of depicting what happens when one isn't cool with themselves - classic bully but it then has potential to turn into something quite beautiful.
TKR's rating:
Suicide Room (2011)
This film was really intense. It's hits a high early on and then it gets really deep and heavy on the gamified element of the film. It focuses on the struggling youths, their realities and their dark feelings of suicide. This film really makes you feel things. I'd watch again but I need I recover first.
TKR's rating:
Los héroes del mal (2015)
I really enjoyed this film for a few reasons. Push and expect to get pushed back. Also a film about desire, love and friendship.
TKR's rating:
Bad Education (2004)
Definitely overrated. It's appeared on my to-watch list a few times but it was a tad disappointing.
TKR's rating:
Private Lessons (2009)
This film was so odd it made me laugh a few times but it's a worth a watch. This film is much more than just a gay-themed film, it's a much deeper story about growing up but it's a little messed up.
TKR's rating:
Eastern Boys (2013)
I loved this film. The story was something else. I loved the development of the friendship and trust in this story and without writing any spoilers, the ending is a little odd but it depends how you look at it.
TKR's rating:
Shank (2009)
This film has a certain roughness to it which made it even more enjoyable. I'm not sold on all the casting but the film puts the themes of the story across pretty well.
TKR's rating:
Billy Elliot (2000)
An undisputed classic although not technically an LGBT film, there are aspects. This film is just beautiful from start to finish. With strong themes around friendship and being who you really are but a real backsetting of a working class family in the mining era. Not just a genre classic and a British classic, this is timeless classic.
TKR's rating:
Not sure if this one counts on this list as it's barely LGBT-themed but there's an element I guess. Good film though.
