José Limon

José Limón was a dancer and choreographer who developed what is now known as 'Limón technique'. In the 1940s, he founded the José Limón Dance Company (now the Limón Dance Company), and in 1968, he created the José Limón Foundation to carry on his work. Limón was drafted into the United States Army in April 1943 during which he collaborated with composers Frank Loesser and Alex North, choreographing several works for the Army Special Services division.
