Nintendo Wii review

Posted : 9 years, 6 months ago on 21 October 2014 05:24

It took too long for Nintendo to get online, and when they did their best games such as Melee were not on the list (GC game). Too little too late!

Best console out there

Posted : 15 years, 3 months ago on 11 January 2009 06:19

As a PC gamer, I have never been interested in console gaming. For me, downscaling on visuals, controls, and not to mention games and gameplay never did appeal. But the Wii isn't an ordinary console. From the outset, I loved the new controls, and it makes a great console for when I don't quite feel like playing PC games, and would rather just sit around on a sofa. Other than the PS3 for its blu-ray capabilities and Little Big Planet, it's the only console worth getting.

Got me console gaming again

Posted : 15 years, 11 months ago on 18 May 2008 04:00

Nintendo knows how to build fun consoles and games. They've hit a home run with the Wii, once again.

Truthfully, the games I play overwhelmingly tend to be racing games or sports games. I never liked the idea of playing FPS games on a console while fidgeting with the aiming using the direction keys. I'd much rather play on a PC and aim with the mouse. I haven't owned a console in over a decade now, but that changed with the Wii. It hits the spot for both racing and sports, if they games designed properly.

As far as racing games go, there are two varieties - ones you steer with the wii remote and ones you steer with the nunchuk or classic controller. So far, I've tried about 5 different games and have come away satisfied with all but one. So it doesn't have the best graphics rendering engine or the most powerful processor, but the games are almost always fun to play.

The sports games tend to be more hit and miss. The Wii Sports package is awesome and makes full use of the Wii remote. Tiger Woods golf does well with the remote too. However, I haven't found any other satisfying game so far. Still waiting for people to get better at this.

The slam dunk, as they say, is the Virtual Console. It's a absolute stroke of genius. I'm especially enjoying the Nintendo 64 games - a console I never played with. Also like playing some of the classic NES and Sega games on offer.

All in all, this is a versatile and innovative gaming console that has got me console gaming again.

Nintendo Wii Console

Posted : 15 years, 11 months ago on 14 May 2008 09:20

I just bought a Wii less than 12 hours ago, after taking a bit of time to decide which console to buy. The Wii is the cheapest by far, and after a lot of reading (and thinking), I decided on this one, and thankfully managed to find one, since they are so hard for stores to keep in stock! Brought it home with a couple of games and tried it out, and it's great. Quite the workout when playing Wii Sports - definitely not a game you can play while sitting down, which is great, having that encouragement to get off my lazy butt! Looking forward to many long hours of game play, as well as the upcoming Wii Fit :)

The Wii may not have good graphics such as Playstation 3 or XBOX 360 but who cares the controls for the Wii makes this console so good. PS3 and 360 have the same old joypads where you just sit on your armchair been lazy.
The Wii makes you get up and do a bit of exercising while playing your games. I find it annoying how everyone says the Wii is gay with it's controls, but look at how much the Wii has sold at here in England for Christmas it is sold out almost everywhere making it hard to buy one of these.
The Wii adds more value that you can download classic games from snes, nes, mega drive, n64 and others.

If you want fun and a new game experience buy the Nintendo Wii
