Colin McRae: DiRT Reviews

OK, so I literally bought a 360 just for this game because of how much I loved Colin McRae 05 for the Xbox 1. To keep this short and sweet, let me just say that DiRT is an excellent game in its own right, but those looking for the next Colin McRae game will be disappointed, just as I was at first. The co-driver and pacenotes are both rubbish, and the focus on non-rally motorsports is a bit of a turnoff. I personally feel that DiRT fills a gap that wasn't there. Codemasters already has the Race Driver series for those who want a wide variety of motorsports, and Colin McRae was for the hardcore rally fans... I think DiRT could have been easily rolled into the next game in the Race Driver series and been a phenomenal addition to an already excellent game. I can only hope that Codemasters will eventually release a true rallysport game, something along the lines of the Colin McRae series, and not a DiRT 2. As its own game, though, it really is great, one of the best racing games out there.
