Overcooked Bread

Posted : 8 years ago on 31 March 2016 09:40

A review of toast? Well, I have a soft spot for bread, so I thought I'd better give this a go, so I did. The cast was great... Butter slid into the role with ease (but not the roll, because there wasn't one). Cheese bubbled away throughout the performance, and Marmite was truly terrifying as the villain of the peace. Was all this too much for the toast itself? Was there too much up top for the structure of the thing? I'd say it was solid throughout, and that all the contributing factors came together well to provide a mightily enjoyable experience. It's top marks from me. Toast is the future, I've tasted it. Give it a try, especially if you like the genre.

An average movie

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this flick but since it was starring Bridget Fonda and Kiefer Sutherland, I thought I should give it a try. Well, it bascally started like a rather standard domestic violence related thriller but it got really weird fairly quick. Indeed, you had a deaf woman, her weird crazy mother, two dead bodies, some lost cash and a dog which didnโ€™t add anything to the plot. So, it was definitely a rather strange flick and I have to admit that I was on the edge of my seat during the whole thing wondering what would happen next. Unfortunately, the directing and the acting were just really weak and some of the scenes were rather stupid. I mean, the two (!) scenes during which the main character stole a car were just so ridiculous and there were many more scenes which didn't make much sense either. Still, I couldn't help thinking that a (good) director such as David Lynch could have created a pretty neat dark tale with this material, but it wasn't meant to be, Iโ€™m afraid. Anyway, to conclude, even though the damned thing had some potential, it was rather average and, eventually, not really worth a look.
