this is a loose washing film about transient moments. if you're looking for clear defined drama look elsewhere. if you want a moment of possibilities this film is full and rich.

really i think this is highly based off of wong kar wai's chungking express and fallen angels series. those are two of my favorite films so this although less complex is a mood piece that i enjoyed a lot.... read more

I had been well aware of this film's reputation as a masterpiece for some time, and when I finally saw it I was so glad I did. I have seen it three times now, it improves each time. Lost in Translation for example is a brilliantly written film. The script is wonderful, with a healthy balance of energetic humour and bittersweet soul-searching. The story, driven by its characters, is slowly-paced but purposefully so, any faster it would have detracted from any magic and poignancy and also would have made the title irrelevant.
