As with his follow-up sensation, Together, Moodyson directs his young actors with a subtlety that refuses to patronise or sentimentalise the emotions (all too rare in films about young people and a welcome antidote to the recent spate of mindless US teen flics). As Moodyson understands, adolescence is often the most emotionally grim period of a person's life: teenagers can be absolutely barbaric to each other. That's why the fragile romance that develops between Elin and Agnes is all the more moving, courageous and perhaps even revolutionary. Show Me Love will leave you with a huge grin on your face as Elin and Agnes finally get their triumphant kiss to strains of "I Want to Know What Love Is".
