DC vs. Vampires: World War V
DC Vs. Vampires: World War V is a 2024 Superhero Horror DC Comics series published under the revived Elseworlds imprint. It's a sequel to the original DC vs. Vampires series.
Written by Matthew Rosenberg, with artwork by Otto Schmidt and colors by Pierlugi Casolino, it's starts six months after the ending of the first series, in which the remaining superheroes managed to restore sunlight to the world...
As a new Ice Age dawns, both humanity and vampires face a literal and figurative cold war. However, returning heroes and battles for the vampire throne threaten to heat things back up...
The series consists of a 12-issue maxiseries and began publishing in August 2024, with some spin-off stories taking place in the the same world:
DC vs. Vampires: World War V โ Darkness and Light (2025): a one-shot tie-in special written by Rosenberg, with two stories drawn by Nikola ฤiลพmeลกija and Daniel Bayliss, respectively. Taking place before the start of the second half of the main series, they focus on Wonder Woman and Alfred, as they're forced to reexamine what it means to survive in a world ruled by darkness.
The main series also includes backup stories (that star different characters) by different writers and artists, including Tyler Boss and Miquel Muerto (#2 & #3 A Hero for These Trying Times), Matthew K. Manning and Acky Bright (#4 - Keep the Message).
