I must say, sometimes you just can't be sure how far they will go in ending a game. Nathan Hale getting shot in the face is a pretty good way to go, plus I just love Capelli's final line to him.

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves

Sly Cooper and the gang have become a favorite series of mine. Exclusive to the Playstation and humorous, I was disappointed that before the final cutscene, Sly has amnesia and Carmelita tells him that he works for her so that he'll stop thieving and be a good guy. Really? That's how they are going to end this trilogy? (4th Sly is set to come out 2012) but just watch after the credits to see what Sly is really up to.

Chalk another one up to SuckerPunch but this ending can make just about anyone cry. Even griping the controller and holding down all those buttons to activate the RFI makes you feel a part of what happens.

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

We waited so long for Starcraft 2 and I don't think anyone has been disappointed. The ending is mind blowing on two levels; one is that Kerrigan may be back to normal (though trailers for Heart of the Swarm look otherwise) and two is that Tychus gets shot by his only friend.

Final Fantasy VI

I'm only including one Final Fantasy on this list; and if it has to be only one then it's VI. This ending is quite long but it's so epic and awesome and while I think they should have placed more emphasis on "what is going to happen to Terra if magic disappears?" before the ending, it's still scary when it happens, whether she will disappear or not.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game

I loved the Technodrome with Shredder and Krang being final enemies. That and the little screen about "mangaling the mousers" haha, always made me laugh as a kid. I can still remember the first time I beat this game with my friend. Nowadays we just use the cheat code.

Besides the fact that there are multiple, and very different, endings; what makes this one so cool is that Alucard is such a badass and Ricther is such a wuss.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

I don't always like when they end games like this. They know they are making another one and that they can reunite old friends, but we don't know that. I was surprised to see them split up Ratchet and Clank after their Ps3 debut.

TimeSplitters 2

Another game that didn't mind killing off one of the main characters. Given Hart is not nearly as important as Cortez but still, it came as a shock to me. Humorously they still included her, despite her death, as a deathmatch skin option in the third timesplitters game. Then the space station explodes and they all die.

Unreal Tournament III

Yet again, killing off another main character. Jester was cool and I love how freakin pissed Reaper gets about his sister dying. Not to mention Othello and Bishop are most likely dead as well.
