Twilight (Twilight Series, Book 1)

I know this is a controversial series. Either you love it or you hate it. I also know that it doesn't sound like the most complex story ever: an ordinary girl, vampires, teenage love... Still this book came to my hands in the right time. I haven't had that much time lately but I read it out of curiosity and I just couldn't put it down. I guess there is something about it that is really addictive. And it made me rediscover my love for reading and find more time to dedicate to books. I guess everyone should give it a try :)If you can get past the cheesy moments its a good book.

Awesome book for those interested in History (like me). This is not a fictional book, it is a historical book that explains facts. Still it is really interesting and easy to read, because the author explains everything in an entertaining way. The period of history is very complex through this book it becomes a fun experience to learn more about it. I simply loved it!

Another Twilight book, another book you can't put down. I read it really fast and I liked it even more than the first: things start to get interesting, especially when it comes to the theories about the vampires and werewolves.

I really love this book: read it more than once already. It is easy to read and yet very deep and well written. You fall in love with the awesome characters, the setting, the history and you probably end up believing that this story is real and not fictional, at least you never look at the painting without thinking about Griet (the main character) :) I recommend it to anyone, but especially Art and History lovers.

The Lady and the Unicorn

This is certainly a completely unique book in the way it is written. The story is in the same style as Tracy Chevalier's previous book "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" since it is also about a piece of art, in this case a tapestry, and how it was created. The big twist is that each chapter is written from the view of a different character, completing the story with their own opinion. The characters are awesome and the epoch in with it is settled is really well described, apart from being easy to read and very interesting. Awesome book, that I recommend to anyone :)

The Constant Princess

This was my favorite book by Philippa Gregory. Catherine of Aragon, the first wife of Henry Tudor, is a character I never knew much about and this book really explains her life and points of view. People are used to see history from the point of view of Anne Boleyn and after reading this you certainly fall in love with Catherine and her strenght, or at least start paying more attention to her role in history. Recommended for all history lovers :)

Memoirs of a Geisha: A Novel

I read this book some time ago when i was very curious about japanese culture and there still wasn't any words about a movie from this book. I think it is worth reading because of its biographical style (although it is semi-fictional) and you get to know a lot about the japanese traditions and way of life. Its very educative and very addictive to read. Recommended to anyone especially those that love oriental cultures.

The Kitchen Boy: A Novel of the Last Tsar

I always have been very interested in the story of the last tsar and all the mysteries around his family's death. This is the best book I ever read about the subject and that's why I highly recommend it. It is very accurate historically (although it is partly a fictional book) and the theory it supports is really believable. This is certainly a must read if you want to know more about this time in history. I recommend it to anyone especially history lovers.

This is one of my favorite books ever, that I read in like 2 days. It's a part of history people don't usually know much about (the early centuries of Christianity) and it is about a legend that never was proofed right, that there was a female pope. the characters are captivating and really human and this is certainly one of those books that makes you believe the story you are reading is true. Recommended to anyone :)

Zorro: A Novel (P.S.)

This is not the usual Zorro story you are used to, at least for me. I read it out of curiosity because I always liked Isabel Allende and I was very surprised in a positive way. This book presents the life of the boy that later became Zorro and his reasons in a very realistic and human way, making it look like a serious story and not a legend. It is very well written and captivating: highly recommended, even if you aren't that into this kind of heros.

Ines of My Soul: A Novel

I love books about strong female characters in history, and this is certainly about that, based on a real character. The book tells the story of Inés, a women who participated in the conquest of Chile. Her life was certainly difficult, but full of passion and adventure. I loved reading this because I really didn't have any idea about this period in History, and the book is certainly very detailed and well-researched. I highly recommend it.

Daughter of Fortune

I read this book a long time ago and I read it again and again. It is my favorite book of all time and it was one of the first "not childish" books I read (maybe that's one of the reasons it was so special to me). The story is perfect, about a woman ahead of her time who fights against all obstacles to find her place in the world. It s a very rich book full of awesome characters, settings, adventures, and so on. It is certainly a must read for everyone!

This is another excellent book by Isabel Allende, and one of my favorites ever. About a woman in the chilean 19th century, that can be considered the continuation of the rich family saga described in Daughter of Fortune. Full of passions, love, family secrets, it has all the ingredients to keep the reader interested. Although it can be read separately I highly recommend reading it after reading the first one: Daughter of Fortune. Again recommended to everyone.
