This is a very difficult film to watch for the modern man. For a start, it's a silent film, it's in black and white and the cue cards are in German, but I didn't let that stop me. I perservered and what I saw was pretty much a decent movie. It is, according to Imdb, one of the top 250 movies of all time. I've no doubt that in its day it inspired lots of other films and technologies, but that's all you could really rate it highly on. It's an ambitious project and it deserves recognition for what it managed to achieve, but the storyline is nothing amazing.
One scene I did enjoy was the ending scenes, where the town is in disarray and the locals are frenzied drones. That part was well played and left me with a few questions and thoughts after the credits rolled. I couldn't watch this with friends, it's something purely viewed to say I've watched it and be that little bit more pretentious.
