You can tell the script is written by a playwright – this film is dialogue and character driven, but not in an annoying way. The plot is very simple – big city film crew goes to a small town and needs to use/exploit local resources to get their film made. You could sit down and in 5 minutes write a list of all the obvious characters in the town and they are all there, but they are not romanticized or judged and lots of clichés are avoided. William H Macy plays a great role. There are a few very funny lines to boot. I like this film
