David Wenham will no doubt bring in the ladies to watch this, and Aussie film appreciators will probably also give this one the benefit of the doubt, but Australian Film can do better!
This film jumps around more than a cat with sticky tape on its paws, and some plot holes stand out unforgivably amongst the reality of other subject matter. How on earth a public servant can a) be unable to support a family of three or b) find himself fired (!) defies my world of logic.
Still it is a personable tale of circumstance, morality and fate where almost everything is left up to interpretation. Real characters throughout, and some smart dialogue if you can get past the mumbling.
