Watching this film made me praise the lord that I wasn't born a whole generation earlier. It looks like this time period was an unspeakable scourge of crap outfits, unfunny jokes and anti-fun.

Just look how mediocre/detested the cast turned out to be! I didn't so much as raise a smirk during this veritable angerfest. Some dude has a day off of school and managed to get half of the nation worked up over his fun antics. It's like the Blues Brothers except there are absolutely no funny moments, likable characters, anthemic songs or killer outfits. Avoid like the plague.

If you were born a generation earlier, you'd 'get' this film.

That's all there is to say.

BTW, the comedy is there, it's just very very subtle, sorta like all the new Bill Murray type of comedies.

Subtle is definitely not a word I'd associate with this film. It's a 100mph balls-to-the-wall plot that desperately tries to make you laugh with the most unimaginitive and obvious devices I've ever seen.

If only the 30+ brigade is going to enjoy this film, perhaps it should be confined to the vault, only to be aired on Paramount late at night.

finally I see someone who agrees with me.

Truth be told, I can't exactly pin-point whether I actually found this film 'funny' or not. At times, I wasn't even sure whether it was a comedy or not, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. Maybe it's more of an adventure film. I'm not sure, but some of your points are very accurate, and I have to admit, you are good at doing that in your reviews. Despite whether I agree or not. It is a shame you don't write reviews anymore...
