Review of Aliens

Review

One of the greatest science fiction films of all time. Some of the most memorable hard arses ever to grace the big screen. The ultimate in interplanetary house cleaning equipment is shipped off to a doomed colonial planet with which contact has recently been lost.

Cue a testosterone filled pitched battle with the most ferocious alien species in the universe ending with a heroic last stand and desperate rescue attempt as Ripley rampages into the bowels of an alien hive to rescue the last surviving colonial girl on the planet. Non-stop tension, action and humour throughout. These were the days.

They don't make action movies like they used to. This one was the cream of the crop from the action-filled 80s.

Bill Paxton was the best grunt. loved all his lines! :)

Ripley: How long after we're declared overdue can we expect a rescue?

Hicks: [pause] Seventeen days.

Hudson: *Seventeen days?* Hey man, I don't wanna rain on your parade, but we're not gonna last seventeen hours! Those things are gonna come in here just like they did before. And they're gonna come in here...

Ripley: Hudson!

Hudson: ...and they're gonna come in here AND THEY'RE GONNA KILL US!

Ripley: HUDSON! This little girl survived longer than that with no weapons and no training.

Hudson: So why don't you put her in charge?

Aliens is my favorite movie of all time. This movie always come to mind when people talk about intelligent action films. No explosion is wasted just for thrills - everything has a purpose and the characters and the humor! I wish there were more movies like this.
