I thought this film was utterly hilarious. I think it was a bad film, but one of those that is so bad it's good and entertaining at the same time.
There were so many plot holes in the film that they're probably not even worth listing. The Venom symbiote fell to Earth and then just chilled out in Parker's bedroom for about an hour before taking him over. Why!? I've always thought the casting of Spider man and MJ was utterly wrong, and I thought it shone through on this film more than any of the other two. There is literally no believable attraction between the two actors during the whole film.
If the whole film was about Venom, I don't see why we had to wait an hour for him to show up, then only gave him a small fight sequence in the ultimate fight at the end. The special effects on him were great, but that's it. Thrown in to appease the fan boys, who will probably just be pissed off that he didn't get enough screen time.
The emo-Parker scene was the biggest joke of all. At first it was fairly humourous, but then it really wasn't, especially his dancing in the jazz bar. I forgot I was watching a Spider Man film by that part.
I think one of the only pros from the film was Harry Osbourne. He was much more likable this time around. I don't think the police truck chasing sandman was full of sand either, that was actually sandman in his collapsed form. He can only grow in size if there is more sand around, I think that was just his own composition.
Not only did Harry not get killed but Spidey somehow knew that he wasn't killed, that's why he went back later to ask for help. Classic!
