Review of The Guard

Review

The Guard” is an Irish comedy and almost incidental thriller, though mostly it’s something of a bait and switch. The tasty bait (and reluctant buddies) are Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle. The story ain’t much rather a stereotype.

The film is written and directed by John Michael McDonagh, brother of In Bruges writer-director Martin McDonagh, and there’s a striking family resemblance.
