The Black Hole

An Excellent, uncomplicated 1970's Sci-fi film with good special effects for that era. Disney's first PG rated film....provides an entertaining story, about the space travelling crew aboard shuttle Palomino that unintentionally stumble across a long lost spaceship the Cygnus and unwittingly become involved in the resident insane genius 'Dr Hans Reinhardt's', intentions of entering a Black Hole. Although being a bit weak, the story was made more enjoyable by the superb robots, V.I.N.C.E.N.T. and B.O.B who were lovable, looked very realistic and portrayed the good of humanity as opposed to the unforgettable Evil Maximilian robot created by Dr Hans Reinhardt...which was quite possibility the most frightening robot from that generations childhood memories along sides the Daleks.

Although the story was essentially a remake of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, and a fairly obvious attempt to cash in on the success of Star Wars, this was an enjoyable movie, although it was quite violent considering it was aimed at children. Also has one of the weirdest endings in cinema. I'm not sure what they were thinking of when they put that together.
