Review of The Visitor

A good movie

Since I saw Richard Jenkins in in 'Six Feet Under', I always had a weak spot for him. He usually shows up in supporting parts but he is always dependable. Here, he finay gets a lead part and was deservedly awarded by an Oscar nomination. I must admit it took me a while to get involved in the story. I mean, Jenkins and all the other actors involved were all pretty good but I didn't really care about the story or the characters. Still, thanks to the impressive acting, I got caught up by the story. In my opinion, the story was not really original but it remains an interesting reflection on the status of the immigrants in the USA and its impact on an American citizen who didn't care about anything anymore. To conclude, only to see Richard Jenkins shining, it is definitely worth a look.
