Mario Kart At Its Finest

This is my favorite Mario Kart of the series? Why, 4 player with the perfect balanced array of items, perfect tracks, perfect controls, and perfect perfection. Mario Kart on the SNES was fun, but this one still blows my mind.

It's still fun to pick this game up and play with friends. It sometimes is lame to play "with" friends online; whatever happened to the good old days of playing "with" friends in the same room so you could punch/shove/hurt and otherwise make wisecracks (not everyone has a headset, though I don't know why) at those who are sitting right next to you.

If you like Mario Kart you really only need this one. It doesn't always screw you over for being in first like the new ones seem to, no driver/rider gimmicks, just racing and your mad skillz with a banana peel.

The only online gaming I've done not on a computer was Halo at my brother's apartment (at which I sucked) and a momentary instance of playing Portrait of Ruin before my signal went out (or the other player disconnected - I don't know which). Nothing beats playing in a room with friends though.

Nice review. I don't mind playing online with friends and I agree that playing with friends in the same room is great.

I don't mean to diss playing with friends online, it's great; I'm just saying playing with friends in the same room is more fun in every way possible! :D
