Review of The Great Raid

An average movie

Back in the 90's, John Dahl made some pretty amazing and underrated film noirs and since then, I have checking out all his movies. This time, he tried a totally different genre, the war drama. The end result was not bad but I can't say it was mind-blowing either. There are some pretty good actors (especially James Franco) who delivers some decent performances and the story was quite interesting. Unfortunately, the movie never really takes off and never gets really inspiring or fascinating. Still, it is a well made war drama and it is definitely worth a look.
