"Mass Effect", is not a horrible game, It just doesn't appeal to me. The gameplay, is wierd, and not fun. The graphics are great, and the story line is excellent, but it is like a Halo type shooter, with the weird guns, and creatures, and such, and those kinds of games just aren't my cup of tea. I know those aren't very big aspects to a game, but it makes the game that much worse. I might have liked this game if the gameplay was changed around a lot.

I liked it at the time because it was a good game for its type. (But, a few years later, I wonder how much time and effort I put into it, you know?) It's good to be able to be critical of something even though it's got hype.

You know what the ironic thing about this game is, looking back, not being a fan anymore-- and I'm really not a fan of all this the way that I used to be-- is that at times it's like it's *almost* semi-conscious of its own problems. It's as though half (all?) of the plot-writers were fed-up with the whole video game blood-slaughter and tired of pretending it was clever and about to quit, but first they did this last thing where they put all these, subliminal messages, almost, while they were still thinking about it, or, something.

(It's funny, I didn't realize that there was another review when I posted mine. I thought that I noticed things like that. I know that it sounds funny, but it's true.)

Anyway, one of the lines, that kinda stayed with me, at the time, and I can even remember it now, is when Liara-- the *actual* girl, says, "I see; it must be a human thing."

Maybe that was the comment of John Plotwriter, at a certain point, too-- maybe that was his point of view.

I mean, do you remember the mission with the monkeys.

And it's also about history and stuff-- 'Mass Effect' as well as ME.... almost like they understood it, well, obviously they could, if they thought about it, but, like, of course they could tell what the abbreviation was going to be, so, why not, 'Mass Effect', and, ME....

I mean lots of games have fake history-- Autocratic Tyrant, and the Army, but this game was more, like.... Hmm.... World War Two, (like, it was almost obvious that that was what they were thinking about in some of the codex entries, it was (obviously) thoughtful instead of obscure and "clever".... like, World War II.... that was *pretty bosch*, wasn't it....)

And, you know.

The monkey mission.

The mission to slay the monkeys.

And, I don't know, I almost don't want to go through all of it-- the cast is pretty damaged, as people, right, and in a way it can only get worse the more war-slime you dip them in....

Yeah, it's weird, because each and every hidden message, it's almost not worth trying to find them all because, once you get it, that maybe....

That maybe they *wanted* a crap review, right. I mean, not *obviously*-- not the *publishers* or anything.... but maybe the *writers*....

Or I could just be crazy, but that's sorta the opinion that I've come to about that whole thing....
