"Terms of Endearment" is a truly great film. It tells the story of the relationship of a mother and daughter and their lives over several years. Shirley MacLaine gave the performance of the year(1983) and deserved her long overdue Oscar for this film. Debra Winger is perfectly cast in the role of Emma. She does an excellent job of making the character seem like a real person. The supporting cast, especially Jack Nicholson are great. This is a truly moving film and richly deserved the 5 Oscars it won in 1983.
