Dame Elizabeth Taylor came from a world of glitz, glamour, politics, and privilege and jumped head on into the world of HIV/AIDS...tackling the most difficult and most deadly disease of its kind. She did this without batting an eye. She did this as the felt that she had a personal responsibility to the world for giving her such fame and fortune. In the true sense of the definition of karma, she went about raising a half a billion dollars covering medical expenses for those with AIDS, as well as, housing, social events, peer support, psychological assistance, medication, and scientific research and was funding anything and everything to end this plague. Soon, Sir Elton John, Madonna, Bill and Melinda Gates (Microsoft), Oprah Winfrey, Sharon Stone, Michael Jackson and many too many to list followed suit. So now, we can stand on a mountain top, which is indicated in this beautiful song and look out into our feel proud to be together. To feel unity. We have a long way to go. We are not all there yet.
