Richard Tucker (1913-1975) Born in Brooklyn, New York as Ruvn Ticker, Tucker was a Jewish American tenor. Tucker married the sister of tenor Jan Peerce, Sarah Perelmuth, who always attended Tucker's performances. Peerce and Tucker were famously rivals of each other. Here Tucker sings 'Di quella pira' from a live performance of Il trovatore. This is transposed down one half step, he sings high B's instead of C's. I find Tucker's version one of the best renditions of Di quella pira....
