David Harnik honory President of the Israel Tennis Association thanked Sasson & Gollar for hosting the evening and said that Sasson would always be associated as the person who brought tennis to Russia,to such high standardds as he is the patron of the presitgious Kremlin Cup ATP Tour event.
Dr Ian Froman, President of the Israel Tennis Association thanked Sasson and Gollar for the elegant evening which they had hosted. He warmly welcomed the Russian team to Israel and complimented them for have so many players in the top 25 on the WTA rankings.
A festive dinner was held on January 31 in Herzlia, at the
home of Sasson & Gollar Khakshouri,in honor of the Fed Cup
by BNP PARIBAS between Israel and Russia.

Guests attending the dinner were the Fed Cup teams from both
Israel and Russia,Members of the Russian Tennis Federation,
Members of the Israel Tennis Association, ITF
representatives including the
ITF President, Mr Francesco Ricci Bitti, Andrew Jarrett,
Referee of the Fed Cup tie and Referee of Wimbledon, ITF
Representative Alison Sowersby, senior ITF chair officials,
Marianne Alves and Pascal Maria, the Ambassadors of Russia,
Belarus and Georgia and additional honored Guests.

Mr Ricci Bitti thanked Sasson Khakhsouri for his wonderful
hospitality and said he was pleased to be in Israel for this
prestigious tie where Russia as Fed Cup champion in 2007 and
a Team he is closely associated with, was playing in Israel
a country which he has always held close to his heart.
He thanked his good friend David Harnik for inviting him to
visit Israel at this time and be part of the occasion of
two home ties where Israel faced Russia in the Fed Cup and
Israel faced Sweden in the Davis Cup.

He congratulated Sasson that his son, Allon, is often seen
in the box at important tournaments and that he has remained
in international tennis.

Sasson Khakshouri welcomed the Russia team and congratulated
Maria Sharapova on her victory at the Australian Open 2008.
He complimented Shamil Tarpishev, Captain of the Fed Cup
team from Russia for his achievements over the years and of
his great achievements that both the Fed Cup and Davis Cup
teams had been crowned world champions, several times. He
extended his best wishes to Shamil, for anticipated good
results in the Olympic Games to be held in Beijing, 2008.

Sasson went onto say that no matter what the result of the
Fed Cup tie, he hoped that the event would be played in true
friendship.

The Official Draw ceremony was held at the Daniel Hotel.,
Herzlia.
