Description

The first wave of men landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944, was comprised of, among others, the US 29th Infantry Division. Mr. Charles Durning, distinguished actor and hero of the landing and other combats, read Private Harold Baumgarten's letter written a few days after he was wounded in the water off Omaha Beach during the landing.
