Witch Doctor was written and released by Ross Bagdasarian under the stage name 'David Seville'. This was considered a Novelty song, and I have always been impressed that it was able to reach Number 1 on the Billboard charts. Bagdasarian created the high pitched voice of the Witch Doctor by playing back his own voice at twice the speed.
