The child has a white lock, this lock is characteristic of people who are exposed to great stress, stressful situations, is produced by a loss of hair depigmentation of melanin (pigment that gives color).
There are several deleted scenes, among which are: a very long over 6 minutes in the Cole explained that visit each day to a veteran, who tells war stories and explains the death of his wife, which then the child sees. The third is the most significant (CONTINUE READING PROHIBITED IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE) The scene in question shows us Bruce Willis about to be hit by a car while crossing the street. I guess this scene deleted from the final cut for "sing" too.
